What an experience!!! Great food, friendly staff and it is beautiful inside! Lovely traditional pub, fantastic location as it is right by the bus stops. I couldn't not fault one thing. It is a MUST visit!

Lovely looking pub but the staff are so miserable, the woman who always seems to be there serving is rude and not at all welcoming. Sick and tired of the crappy staff here over the years,

Evening meal was typical pub grub, heavy in content and size its fair value for money and good enough for the first night we stayed. Evening service was fine in marked contrast to breakfast.

We had a meal here and unfortunately was very disappointed. The menu choice was very limited and with very basic meals, nothing really for a special occasion. (Burger and chips, sausage and mash, fish and chips, liver and bacon, vegetarian flan or expensive 8oz steak)....More

Sunday lunch here today reminded me of what a good Sunday lunch is all about: having the time to kick back and talk with each other, to talk with the kids (how often do we get to do that in this world of constant electronic...More

Very good Fresh Food, politely and efficiently served. A warm cosy atmosphere with open fires. Could do with a few more customers !

Had a lovely man-sized Sunday roast with doggy bag provided for smaller appetites. Unfortunately licencee was leaving following week and chef moving to Etchinghill golf club so cannot guarantee future.

The room was a very good size but the decor could do with an update (also bubbly floor in bathroom). The food was delicious and a very good price. Ate 3 courses for dinner and enjoyed an excellent breakfast. it was all delicious. Land lady...More

Popped in for drink on the way back from lunch in Whitstable as heard it was under new management . Lovely welcome at bar with good selection of lagers and most importantly red wine! As we had eaten already didn't dine but looked at menu...More

Description
We would like to welcome you to The Rose and Crown Inn (AA 4 Star) situated in the heart of the Village of Elham in an area popular with walkers and declared as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We are only a short distance from the Channel Tunnel at Cheriton, approx 5 miles from Folkestone and 6 miles from the City of Canterbury. The Rose & Crown Elham is a Grade II Listed building, it was originally timber framed and built in the 16th century. Most of it has been re fronted, and extended at the south end, where a date stone gives the date 1740. This inn was used for many years for the Elham Petty Sessions, and the courtroom can still be made out on the first floor. Mortises and grooves in the beams show where a small room was set aside for the use of the magistrate, who visited here once a fortnight. The first game of Bar Billiards was played here in the Rose & Crown, Elham in 1932. David Gill of Ox Road Farm, North Elham was responsible for creating the first Bar Billiards table, which was first played on here at the Rose & Crown Elham. (Information Source Derek Boughton.
