This place is a lovely surprise, being much nicer inside than you would judge from the outside. We both enjoyed the very good pizzas which were delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive.

Haven't been to eat for a while but the food is still superb and the staff efficient and friendly. The quality of the food and wine was excellent. Although fairly busy you didn't feel neglected or rushed. Great evening.

It has been a couple of years since I reviewed The Weary Ploughman and I must say I think it is much better than it was two years ago. The welcome and service I have found to be excellent with nothing being too much trouble for the staff. I have been for lunch and the space between tables and layout... More

This was our first lunch at the Weary Ploughman, apart from the occasional Sunday lunch. We were a party of six (seven if you count the dog), a couple who were staying for a few days in Brixham, our daughter and her husband and us plus Jake. We had checked with the resaurant that we could take the dog, and... More

We will try to accommodate our canine friends if at all possible (we have three Great Danes who are sadly far to.......large and ....naughty!! to visit) I am so glad the food was a success for your friends and yourself - its just what we are trying to achive. Lovely lunch at the Weary Ploughman yesterday. Service was superb and the food was ample and all delicious. My son and I particularly loved the mussels, the cider cream sauce was very tasty! Attention to detail made us feel very welcome. Homemade fudge was the star! They need to sell this by the bag!

A fantastic family meal whilst on holiday in the area. The triple cooked chips are fantastic! No children’s menu as such but can cook any meal in a half portion size. Everyone happy with their meal, best gammon steak ever according to my husband and father-in-law. Would definitely return on our next visit to the area and would recommend.

Dear Emma D, Lovely review - thank you!!! I just responded to another review regarding the great gammon - i am so pleased - we have recently moved to a really suculant premium cut of localy sorced pork which we think far excedes what you get from the supermarket or chain pub, it reduces our margin as costs more, but... Visited with family for the first time at lunchtime during half term. All the food was good - a few of us had pizzas which were a good size and decent value. The burger was excellent and the gammon very impressive. Staff were all friendly and service was good. No complaints at all.

Thanks Andy P, for your really possitive review, Its great to get such good feed back regarding the gammon as we have recently moved to a really suculant premium cut of localy sorced pork which we think far excedes what you get from the supermarket or chain pub. Happy to know it was well worth it!! Warm regards James More
