We tried the smoked trout dip, the fried trout basket, the trout with coconut sauce, and the pineapple/parsley juice. All of them were very good and I highly recommend the trout with coconut sauce. The restaurant grounds are beautiful and I do recommend walking around them too. They open at 12:00 for lunch.

What a wonderful restaurant along the river! They specialize in trout, and it did not dissappoint. The portions were large and beautifully presented. Prices were very reasonable as well. Trust me, you are missing out if you don't stop here!

Had lunch here on a Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed it. We sat on the lower terrace overlooking the river, an amazing location. The menu was varied and included Costa Rican dishes as well as some more American dishes. All were cooked really well and we had the best deserts of anywhere in Costa Rica. The restaurant deserved to be a... More

Al fresco dining beside a creek with great smoked trout dip. We ordered salads which were awesome. We will come back tomorrow for something just as delicious. The go to spot after your hunt for quetzals!

We all had the smoked salmon sandwhich with a limonade and we all loved it. The only complaint is that the portion are on the small side (according to the price). Very friendly staff, I highly recommend.

We found this wonderful little restaurant after having quickly tired of the food at the Savegre Hotel. Finding a place like this is one of the reasons you would want to come to Costa Rica. From the beautiful and peaceful setting to the wonderful wait staff, this could not have been a better experience. You may not find anything really... More

We stopped after a hike to a nearby waterfall. Sit on the patio and then walk the stunning garden below. The jugo naturale was pina (pinapple with celery and parsley) --so refreshing and delicious. Their menu is a little limited but everything we tried was tasty and the price very reasonable ($10 US). The service was excellent. The chicken in... More

The place is very nice, clean, nice view of the river. Food is good but not amazing. Beverages are very good and attention is very good also.

My friends and I were visiting Costa Rica during May. On route to our resort we stopped by Cafe Kahawa for lunch. It definitely was a good idea. The menu is short but has enough options. Trout is their speciality. The place has a lovely view of the ridge/valley next door. Net-net, a place I would definitely recommend for a... More

Dear RahulPratti, Thanks so much for your visit to Cafe Kahawa. Our Cafe offers, as you say, a small menu, where we have created trout specialties as our main dish, but are glad to offer other options such as chicken and our great Bean Soup (our Costa Rican specialty which is great also for vegetarians). Our dedicated staff works in... More

There is a menu with a limited offer of snacks, sandwiches and some warm items, trout is omnipresent. Nice view and good alternative for the buffet offer in the neighbourhood
