This absolutely one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten. We also got the homemade ice cream and that was fabulous. I would highly recommend this stop if in the area.

Really cute local spot. Very clean and friendly. Pizza was thin crust and delicious. Eat here and then drive up to the Butterfly Conservatory!

I met John about 9 years ago. Transplant from California brought his pizza skills. This place is remote and charming. A pizza place in a village of roughly a dozen houses in the shadow of arenal volcano. We ate here our first evening in El Castillo. It was recommended to us by the people we rented our home from and I also saw where several others had recommended it so we decided to give it a try. When we arrived someone had...to move a goat out of the way before we could make it up to the parking area. That was a fun and memorable experience. We went inside the restaurant and found that we were the only people there. No other customers were dining when we arrived and nobody else was eating there when we left. The server led us to the upstairs dining room and took our drink order. He was very friendly. We all decided to get our own personal pizza. We could have gotten by with ordering 3 pizza's because we had more than one pizza leftover when we were finished. The pizza is thin crust and they cooked it so that it was pretty crispy. The toppings and the cheese were of high quality and the pizza's were all delicious. We couldn't believe that you could get such a good pizza in a remote little town in the mountains of Costa Rica, but you can. I thought the prices were a little on the high side, but it would not keep me from returning to the restaurant. The remote atmosphere, the delicious food, and the sounds of nature while you are eating make it worth it. I highly recommend that you stop by this place if you are in the mood for pizza while in the Arenal/El Castillo area.More

Incredible, friendly, kind people who offer great service. Although it was pizza and not traditional food we ate, I would say this is certainly my favourite place we ate at in CR. Surrounded by farms and wildlife, our hosts showed us great friendliness and pointed...out the nearby animals and trees. HIGHLY recommend, a must do. Drive to get here was a little out-of-the-way but well worth it in the end pizza was delicious customer service was awesome make sure you try their homemade ice cream definitely would love to return!
