We stayed near Orient Village with our latest vacation to St. Martin, spending the first half of the week on the french side of the island and the back half of the week on the dutch side. One of the clear highlights of staying near Orient Village is the Le Piment restaurant and the two times we dined there. The charm and friendliness regarding the staff at this restaurant is off the charts. Although my wife and I could not retain everyone's name, the waitresses Salome and Sara were both darling and tend to your every single need. They seem to truly love their work, and make every effort to get to know you and assure that you are having a great dining experience. The food at Le Piment is excellent, with a very diverse menu that goes well beyond a typical french restaurant. From steak to duck to even pizza they have just about everything, with price ranges to match. At our first visit we spent roughly 100 euros for a full dining experience that included dessert, but opted for pizza at a visit a few days later and spent less than 35 euros. Our food on both occasions was terrific. Reservations are probably a good idea, but even if you don't have one they still try exceptionally hard to fit you in. Like many restaurants on French St. Martin, you can pay in either euros or opt for U.S. dollars if you don't wish to convert some funds to euros. My wife and I highly recommend Le Piment and it will always be a mandatory dining spot on future visits to this island.

We had two meals both of which were excellent. Be sure not to order too much because portions are large and the desserts are very good. The first meal was a prosciutto appetizer/salad. I had the seven hour lamb special and hubby had pates arrabiata. All the above along with two glasses of wine and a bottle of still water ran 77 euros. Everything was really good but it was too much food. The second meal included a camembert filled pastry with a salad for me and pasta carbonara for hubby. We had room for dessert of a crepe with coconut, rum, banana and chocolate for hubby and a chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream for me. Desserts were really really good. Total for this meal including two glasses of cote de provence (server suggestion, not necessarily the best pairing)and a bottle of still water was 69 euros. Favorite restaurant in orient beach.

There’s good reason to dine at Le Piment each time one visits The Village d’Orient Bay. It’s our favorite location for fine dining just steps from the beach. This year I gorged on slow roasted lamb, while my fiancé slowly devoured a beautiful and fresh red snapper in a light cream sauce — Mouthwatering dishes accompanied by a lovely wine selected by our gregarious and always helpful server. The menu is always fine, but the specials are not to be ignored.

The specials are presented on a large colourful chart and the menu is presented on an iPod that allows the patron to scroll through the selections with pictures and ingredient listing. No need to squint or use your camera flashlight to read the menu. The crowd was really mixed from young diners under 20 to folks in their 80s. The smells from adjacent tables was amazing. My wife had blacken tuna barely cooked which was really fabulous. I had the risotto of sea scallops, shrimp and chorizo- very yummy. Great place watch the crowds milling about the courtyard and enjoying themselves.

When in SXM this is on our must goto list. I have been trying to keep this place a secret to hopefully make the wait shorter - so make a reservation! As you will see a very busy restaurant with great service and great food - from pizza to the full course french delites. We had this amazing Camembert cheese salad for two. I had leg of lamb which is served off the bone and wife had Salmon encrusted in goat cheese. Both were great and the side potatoes with cheese was to die for! Several glasses of bordeaux topped the meal - but unfortunately not leaving room for desert.

Le Piment is a lovely dining experience. The pizza was absolutely delicious (we had the Tuscany and it was both light and very tasty) and the spaghetti bolognese is rich and tasty. The servers are friendly and attentive and the ambience is pleasant and not too loud. This was my second time going and would absolutely go back again!

Good food. Good service except for pouring of wine and water. Large menu, which should have been a clue. We went for high end meals when I’m sure that more casual food would have been better.

The food was very good (5 stars). However, the wine and service were rather average (3 stars), hence on average I gave it a 4-star rating. We asked for Pinot Grigio and apparently we got the "house" variety of the wine, which had a low quality wine taste and was not a match to the food at all. The waiters were also distracted with people asking for a table, making us feel ignored at times.

Le Piment is at the top of TA restaurant reviews and we did have an enjoyable dinner. It’s definitely good for kids as they offer pasta and pizza in a casual atmosphere. We didn’t return for a second evening as there are other interesting places within the village.

Having made the necessary reservations, we headed to Le Piment. It was Valentine’s Day and people were just enjoying themselves. Although we were seated on the inside, you could follow the hustle and bustle on the “plaza”, where lights gave an extra dimension to the festive feeling. We were promptly seated; service was not swift, but friendly. Water and drinks were ordered, and we took our time to select appetizers and mains (escargots, mussels, sole, monkfish and tournedos). Neither of us wanted rice, so alternative delicious potato dishes were brought as well as home fries. Not everyone had any place left for dessert, but those that did, were not disappointed. A complimentary home made digestive closed off a lovely evening.

Visited with family celebrating my daughter’s birthday. With all the positive reviews I expected the food and service to be better. I ordered the Linguine with calamari, recommended by the server. It was ok. My husband got one of the streak specials. The streak was tender but lacked flavor. Our crème brûlée was burnt. Now service, they have 3 people waiting on all the tables, each handling a different part of service. We had to ask twice for our wine that we ordered and for the check. Overall experience, disappointing.

Good not great, despite the reviews. Ate there for dinner and had one of the seafood specials which was very good but my husbands duck breast was overcooked and the sauce it came with was overpowering. Service was friendly but hard to flag down. We really disliked the iPad menus- felt very strange/ overly bright. Little ambiance in comparison to other nearby places.

At the suggestion of friends, we dined at Le Piment. It was another nice night in SXM so we ate outside. Sara and the rest of the team took care of us from our beverages which can be tricky to dinner. My wife had a foie gras salad which offered a large mixed green salad, smoked duck slices and the star of the meal, fried foie gras. She loved it. I ate the duck confit which was delicious. These are the special treats that we can only get in SXM Thank you.

For our first night on the island in 3 years, we headed back to Le Piment for our first dinner. There are a lot of choices in Orient and this used to be our favorite. We were promptly greeted and taken to our tables after reviewing the specials. Initial service was prompt and attentive with them explaining the specials and answering questions. We chose a Caesar salad which is our standard appetizer and split it. It was very good and well balanced. The dressing was great and just enough was on the salad. For mains, we choose the Carbanara and slow braised beef cheek. The Carbanara was lacking some seasoning. The past was cooked perfectly but the ham/bacon wasn't very flavorful. The Beef cheeks remind me of a beef rib but a little fattier. The flavor was wonderful and the texture just took getting used to. My wife didn't like the texture but I ate it. I'll have to think hard if I will get Beef cheek again. Sugar crepe for dessert and off to bed. We found the restaurants in general compared to eating out in Chicago. $120ish with 2 drinks.

This restaurant is one of our favourite restaurants in the Caribbean. They have great cocktails and a wonderful varied wine list. The food is simply to die for and they have a wide range of options, which change regularly. On this occasion (we were there in February 2020) we ate here on 4 consecutive nights and sampled most of the specials. Too many favourites to mention! Never had a meal that was not just great. Staff is very attentive and friendly. They speak French and English. Simply a wonderful experience.
