Went for lunch since dinner is too late. The foie gras is the best I have every had. Ate here years ago and it has only gotten better.

We had reserved a table for four in the Bistro area, the front of the hotel. The backroom is the restaurant proper. Our table was in a cozy corner, overlooking the street...nice! The place has a Michelin sticker on the door. Prices are very reasonable...compared to other places and the food was delish! The women had the salade aux choux and the Tagliatelle with prosciutto - all very yummy! The service was slow but we were not in a hurry. Very pleasant and we would return.More

We came across this restaurant by chance on a busy Friday lunch time whilst passing through Melle. We chose to sit in the outer bistro part (the inner part is the restaurant proper) as it enabled us to overlook the road and people watch. The...whole place was buzzy, warm and cosy with lots of atmosphere. It was a pleasant change to find a place full of people chatting to each other. The service was a little slow but this was understandable because it was quite busy. It appeared there were only two waiting staff to service several tables at a frantic time of day but when they did appear the waiters were helpful and attentive. We had ordered plat du jour which was steak in a pepper sauce but unfortunately they had run out of steaks so we were offered a boeuf Bourgignone alternative which was very good. The beef was perfectly cooked and of high quality. Our meal was accompanied by a carafe of local Vendee red which was a good partner for the Bourgignone. Very good value. When next in the area we will definitely make time to stop by and enjoy more 'Logis' style food. On another note, the whole building was renovated and nicely decorated and the hotel looks like it does good business to.More

We had Sunday Lunch here during our stay in the area. With some large parties dining and only two front of house staff the service was slow even by French restaurant standards. The food was OK but a little bland and ordinary. Not sure we...would go again as there are better restaurants in the area.More

The dishes of the day vary - mostly they are good but occasionally a bit weird. Good value lunch times. Portions are not over generous. House wine is Ok, coffees etc fine. Outside area if you just want a drink or an excellent coffee or...tea is very nice but next to a main road. Have eaten here in the evenings many times over the years - sometimes excellent other times fairly good. Service can be a bit hit and miss as well, depends who is on. Can be pricey but definitely worth a visit.More

We've eaten here a number of times over the years and it's always been very good. A few years ago they had two competitors who seem to have gone downhill. But here it's as good as ever. Not cheap but there again the food is...really very good. There is a much more reasonable lunch menu but it can get full very quickly especially on Friday which is market day. Well worth a detour if you're dring past and don't forget the have rooms.More

We were travelling home and with a flight to catch was looking for a good final meal. Driving through Melle, we spotted this lovely bistro and decided it would be worth a stop. My partner went for the plat du jour of local fish served...with a lovely finely diced pan fry of courgette and potato. This was followed up by a gorgeous slice of brownie and a coffee laced chantilly. I had the tagliatelle in a light, cream sauce and lots of lovely herbs and local ham. The pud was perfect...a tart au Citroen with a soft meringue on top. The emphasis was on the tart, as it was super lemony...as I like it. We finished with a great coffee. The staff were friendly, helpful and kept it slow for our slightly wobbly French 😀 The setting was lovely. The food was really good and absolutely was that final French lunch we were after before heading home. I’d stop here again in a shot and maybe team it with a visit to the huge, stunning Abbey.More

Good selection of food and wine , nice pace of serving visited twice whilst staying near Melle. Menus alcarte or a number of fixed priced menus which means there is plenty to choose from. We had a vegetarian in our party and they had sufficient...choice, albeit they do eat fish.More

In an area lacking good French restaurants, Les Glycines stands out. Everything we chose was innovative, beautifully presented on the plate and very tasty. Loved my foie gras starter but the cod main course was really special. great flavours, superbly cooked. My companions raved about...their pork mignon mains, especially the tender and delicately spiced radishes. The desserts were equally good. We washed this down with a good bottle of Montagny, which was not expensive. Service was first class. Loved the surroundings, especially the luxurious amount of space between tables. This restaurant is an absolute must if you're in this area of France.More

This restaurant has to be one of the better ones in this area. It was a total relief to come into a decent, clean and pleasant establishment. Tasteful decor added to the overall experience. We had the set menu and took the advice of our...lovely waitress about the wine. We weren't rushed, the service was both pleasant and efficient, my only regret was that this restaurant was not nearer to the place where we were staying. I would not hesitate to recommend this place.More

We went for a birthday on a Friday night in June. Reserved a table for 8 in advance. The restaurant was not overly busy. The waiter recommended the set menu as it was cheaper which was great But they did not have one of the...three choices. We went with French friends who ordered the wine to go with each course. Starters were lovely but the wine did not arrive until 3/4 of the way through the starter despite asking for it 3 times. The main meals were enjoyed by half the party and the other half thought the meal was overcooked. Cheese - they had a lovely choice. Dessert again was enjoyed by half. Throughout the service was shocking and for the price which is expensive i was not impressed. Be a while again before we backMore
