Nice restaurant with a lively vibe. Food was really good and quite authentic. Dish sizes were OK, and the fried rice was definitely huge. Probably one of the better Chinese restaurants I've been to in Japan. Service was good with attentive and helpful staffs. Will definitely go back if in Ueno again.

At at this beautiful restaurant on a cold winters days. The service was great, lack of Japanese was never a problem. The menu had a wide range of dishes and it was good to find some slightly spicy food. Wasn't very expensive.

We tried this place for lunch after touring Ueno Park - it's close to the entrance when you come from the Ueno station. It is a simple place, super clean, it was full of locals and the staff spoke very little English - bit they had English menu with photos. We had what we believe was kind of an executive... More

GF is hard in Japan but this place (after 10 mins of talking to each other) asked about my allergy and said they'd be able to make the rice dish for me with a gluten free salad and soup. I was so pleased they helped me with this and not all places are accommodating to allergies. The dish was huge... More

This Chinese restaurant adjacent to Ueno Park is a good place to grab lunch. It also provides an interesting décor in which to enjoy your meal. My colleague and I decided to try this restaurant before going to the Tokyo National Museum. We found the reviews on TripAdvisor to be good and Chinese food sounded like a winner to us... More

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
