We just got back from dinner at Namiki Yabusoba. Based on the excellent Trip Advisor reviews our expectations were high. The place was very cute with a nice Japanese atmosphere. The downside was the food. Little flavor and very small small portions. The dinner portion...More

Amazing proper Japanese experience!! Restaurant has been there slinging soba for over 100 years. Very cute space with really friendly staff and delicious food. Options to sit on the floor or table. I had the Soba with tempura shrimp on the side. Both were delicious.

This is the best soba (both hot and cold) in Tokyo. Be ready to queue 30-40 minutes. They have English menu and their staff is also helpful although they speak little English.

One of the best soba I had, it's very traditional and tastes amazing. The setting is super nice too, very warm and cosy. This, combined with the friendly/incredible service by a "cute" and smily old women, makes it a perfect hit! Super worth it, just...More

An institution of sorts in Asakusa. Famous for their soba (buckwheat noodles). If am not mistaken it is slightly older than 100 years. Simple yet tasteful layout with tables (to the left) or tatami (right). Inviting & cosy. Service is super friendly, attentive & fast....More

This place has been in operation since hundred years. It seemed like a popular place with locals, saw a few school kids there too for lunch. They specialize in finely crafted soba. They are served cold or hot with hot broths. One can order them...More

Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old
Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa.
Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit
a variety of different museums and galleries. At
Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the
grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed
alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at
the end of the year, when many people go on shopping
