Family visited on a very hot and humid day. No AC, but the staff did a great job in providing portable electric fans. Had a combination of meat and vegetarian meals. English menu with pictures was a plus. Staff instructions on cooking technique resulted in...More

Sometaro serves delicious okonomiyaki. There is an english menu, employees also speak english. It's a great experience because you get to mix the ingredients and fry the okonomiyaki yourself on a big pan on your table. Later you add sauces and spices yourself. It's fun...More

This restaurant was rated one of the best okonomiyaki in the Ueno/Asakusa area, and okonomiyaki is one of my favorites. The small, old building housing the restaurant is a bit hard to distinguish along the street, but the GPS is accurate. The interior is quite...More

The shop got no aircon, so bear in mind that it's very hot to dine it especially summer time. However, the tepanyaki is nice and cheap! It's would be perfect to dine in winter!

Yes it was hot (no air con), but it made the Sapporo go down with a click! Authentic, old, dark wooden building. Seated on the floor around a table with a teppanyaki plate. Cook yourself and the food tastes great!

Somatero is located in a quaint old timber cottage. Seating is on the floor with cushions to sit on. I always choose a spot with a wall behind, makes it a bit easier for a mature guest. The menu is in English, and the Okonomiyaki...More

This food was amazing! There was so much flavour and it was a great price! Only thing to note is that it is incredibly hot in the building with no Aircon. There are fans but you will leave boiling! Worth it for the food, though!

Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old
Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa.
Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit
a variety of different museums and galleries. At
Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the
grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed
alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at
the end of the year, when many people go on shopping
