Located on the 7th floor of Lumiene 1 above Shinjuku station, this was a lucky find. We needed space for 10 of us and we had no reservation. We got a private area with tatami style seating. Fantastic service. The food arrived promptly and it was a set menu. There were choices for the set and I had chosen the... More

My friend bought us here as she recommended it. I wasn't disappointed. The food was delicious and staff attentive. I had the beef with rice. I had karage as a starter. My son had a curry and said it was the best he had so far on our visit. The rice was light and fluffy. Perfect! Not far from the... More

There was quite a long sitting queue (probably 6-7 people) ahead of us but the wait was not long - about 15 minutes. We seated at the side of the restaurant and not in the middle tables where it is harder to find space for your bags (though they provide a bag holder) on the floor. You can choose from... More

It was very busy the night we went and we had to queue for about 15 minutes. Everyone was in the same boat and the waiters had it all worked out to run smoothly and fairly. We were first given some little jars with various tidbits which were quite nice. Orders were taken and the language barrier was easily breached.... More

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
