This place really rocks. By far the best family-run Turkish food in town! It's a tiny hole in a wall place (you won't miss it. We're staying in an apartment near Okubo station just outside of Shinjuku and were looking to eat somewhere close by. Wandered around the surrounding streets and stumbled across this place. The waiters spoke great English and were able to confirm that they had vegetarian options on the menu. Turns out they had plenty of veggie options as well as traditional... More

It was my first day in Tokyo. My Japanese friend found this restaurant for us to meet. They served Halal food, which is good for me. We ordered some Kebab, I enjoyed it. The place was tiny, but it was cozy. I couldn't find the place in the beginning, but my friend asked the staff to go to find me... More

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
