We were in a hurry to find a good lunch. We passed by and saw the line. My kids love the Beef and Zen - grilled outside and raw inside. My beef stew was also very good. This was a busy place for lunch for locals.

I've been to Taijuen for dinner twice. Yakiniku is great! You can forget about tabehodai (all you can eat) even the cheapest set 2,700¥ has so much food that one person can't finish. Lunch! is what I want to talk about. Taijuen serves many korean style japanese lunch set (not exactly korean food) including kimchi soup. I had lunch here... More

We never had such delicious tender beef. Very cool how every piece of meet has its own dipping sauce. Very friendly staff, who speak English. Love it!

Service is a bit lacking. Definitely not organized at the front of the house, confusion in seating even though had reservation. It's a busy place but honestly how long does it take to bring out a plate of raw meat. Ordered the precious rib eye at 890¥ I guess it's cheap but the marbling does not look like the picture... Taijuen has several locations in Shinjuku, Nakano and other parts of Tokyo. Very good yaki niku (Korean-style BBQ) and very good value for money. Always a reliable place to take visitors or just to have a nice dinner with friends. Not expensive and with the all-you-can-drink system, everyone can get nicely inebriated for only ¥1,500!!! Open from lunch to late... More

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
