Sign is one of those places which think they make healthy food but in fact serve tiny portions of vegetables assembled together without any thought. And the place is way overpriced.

Sign has been a reliable place to go for food and coffee in Daikanyama for years - we have been coming here since about 2005. The coffee is good, there are a small but tasty & reasonably priced range of meal and cake options, and the staff are friendly. We were made to feel welcome when visiting with children.

One of the worst things about Japanese customer service is the insincere formality of customer service that a lot of westerners mistake for politeness. Sign is a charming cafe, beautifully designed, with a spacious outside deck, perfect for people watching, that does not suffer from the above. The staff are of course, still faultlessly polite, however there was a genuine... More

Decent coffee, reasonably good food (in western style) and free wi-fi make this an attractive spot to sit on a sunny day. Smoking is not permitted at the outside tables and it's a much more comfortable spot than battling the fog inside. The staff do their best to help, even if they want to be able to give you characters... More

On a recent trip to Tokyo, we found Sign beside Daikanyama station. Its a cool retro style cafe-restaurant serving a variety of pasta, pizza, and main dishes with a modern twist. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. I loved the chilled out music and the relaxed atmosphere. If you like edgy fashion magazines, indie music and retro style furniture... More

A cafe with a concept of “Meeting Place” located directly above Gaiemmae Sta. Various pop art created by GROOVISIONS are on the walls. “Omurice” = Omelette rice, which is a dish of fried rice wrapped in a thin omelette with demi-glace sauce over it, is exquisite.

Staying in Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu

Neighbourhood Profile
Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.
