The ramen is tasty and tangy. Highly recommend trying it. Different from. The average ramen. I also enjoy the searing they do to the chashu before serving. It gives the pork a nice flavor that stands up to the tangy broth.

I titled this review "favorite" ramen (as opposed to BEST ramen) we ate in Tokyo because lets face it, there are tons of ramen shops with excellent and unique ramen bowls and there is something to take away from each. We tried Afuri Ebisu while on a food tour as our last stop before dessert. So despite being already quite... More

It is the perfect Ramen to get used to japanese Ramen cuisine as the broth is made of a delicious chicken broth. You order your Ramen at a typical vending machine and I liked it that it was written in english, as well. Because it is a popular place you should plan some time in to queue up in front... More

This place is recommended by lonely planet and it didn't disappoint! It was all in Japanese, but if you stick to the top buttons (ramen) you won't be disappointed! The food was out quick, and man it was delicious!!! The staff were friendly and helpful with us as we spoke no japanese...

Was introduced by my local friend to try the ramen here and it was good. We had the orange color base soup and it was yummy! Recommended to try but a little pricey.

we stumbled upon this place by accident the first time we went here. It was because there was a queue outside that we figured it must me good. It was EXCELLENT. You order using the machine at the door - it has pictures - but the staff are helpful if you have a problem. there is not much space inside,... More

My boyfriend & I stumbled upon this quaint spot after doing a little Google search on Ramen places we could try. This is our first time hearing about a yuzu-based ramen so we thought we'd give it a go - no regrets! I had the Yuzuraten Ramen shoyu which was divine. You could really taste the yuzu in the broth.... More

We called in for dinner and found the food excellent. Was good to watch your food being prepared and that have vegan options. First time I've had to order at the door but this is Japan. I left my phone there but came back and it had been handed in so it was retrieved.

Afrui is my regular place for brunch and every time I will order the salty yuzi ramen. There’s a choice of clear or thick chicken soup and I usually take the clear soup. Unlike other ramen place, the slice of pork is fairly charcoal grilled which is super delicious. Sometimes in a hungry day, I will order an extra bowl... More

Afuri is a short walk from Ebisu station which is well served by overground and metro trains. When we arrived there was a queue out of the door and we did wonder whether we should bother or not. Ramen is pretty "quick" food so, in the end, the queue subsided pretty quickly. When you enter there is a machine (like... More

Staying in Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu

Neighbourhood Profile
Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.
