Every time we are in Tokyo, we must eat this at least once for lunch. The tempura batter in seafood and vegetables (cooked right in front of us) is battered well yet light, not clingy/oily and taste consistently great. Keep it up!

We came on Thursday 28th September for lunch after a friend of ours told us he'd "never had tempura like this before". Firstly, we were seated at the table where they cook the tempura fresh infront of you, however we then decided based on the...More

This venerable institution serves exquisite tempura. This restaurant has hosted world leaders like Gorbachev, Chirac, Kissinger, United Nations' Annan and Bill Clinton., who are obviously introduced to the best when in Tokyo. The decor is traditional and soothing. The sign on the wall for one...More

Great tempura cooked right in front of you. We ordered off the a la cartel menu. We particularly enjoyed the scallops and crabmeat. Service also faultless. Not cheap but worth it.

This is where Sinatra, Clinton & Gorbachev eat their tempura in Japan. So you cannot be wrong. Don't forget to add extra scallops as they are also very good

The tempura was excellent--the batter was light and the fish fresh and delicate. But for the price I would have higher expectations.

Much as I am a fan of Sushi Omakase, I have decided to try out Tenchi Hoten for its traditional tempura for a change. The entrance of Tenichi was a bit plain and one may not have thought this is a tempura eatery for eighty...More

This restaurant was a great choice for trying authentic tempura. We selected the mid-tier set course menu, which included snow crab, scallop, oyster, several shrimp, fish, and vegetables. The pieces were cooked perfectly - crisp and light. The chef was friendly (although we didn't speak...More

Batter is heavy, and tempura is greasy. Shrimps are not fried crisp, one of the worst I had. Anago is greasy. None of the vegetables were savory, bad selection. 15.000 Yen per person is rip off for foreigners. Just pick any in Tabelog over 3.5...More

Ginza / Tokyo Nihonbashi
Ginza is famous for being a trendy hotspot, but it's
also a downtown area with shops that were founded over
a hundred years ago. Department stores and luxury
boutiques line the route from Nihonbashi to Ginza.
It's a long established tradition to shop and stroll
while the road is closed to traffic. Luxury hotels,
world class cuisine from talented chefs, and a
collection of glitzy clubs will make this area popular
