As recidivists we know what we are talking about. If in the area, the Calagrana is a must. Without testing Alberto's kitchen, for us, it is not vacation in Italy. It starts already with a warm welcome from Elly, and Archi(baldo) :-)). Food is always outstanding and I always try to convince Alberto to tell me some secrets of his... More

What a lovely meal, 60 people al fresco in the sunshine. Chef Alberto did us proud with a real feast of a meal. The long table was beautifully laid out, elegant and inviting. Ely and her staff made the serving of this many people look easy with the food and wines appearing at just the right pace. The meal was... More

We have had several dinners at Calagrana. The food, indeed, is excellent. Wine selections are good, but very pricey. The view from the veranda is lovely. The service, however, varied significantly. Overall, the tone is 'cool', rather than friendly and on more than one occasion we were rushed through our meal, something we have never before experienced while dining in... More

Beautifully situated with tables overlooking the Niccone valley offering excellent food with locally produced and fresh ingredients with a daily changing menu. Friendly staff and a lively atmosphere make a wonderful evening out! The proprietor and master chef Alberto is a wonderful baker too so at the end of the evening it is worth asking if one of his superb... More

We had an absolutely lovely evening in June. Perfect views across the valley, combined with delicious food and wine as well as friendly and accommodating service. We would love to come back and stay in the beautiful looking rooms. Can't recommend Calagrana enough!

We had pasta and "dulce" and both were good but not outstanding. The wine was ok but more expensive compared to a "local" restaurant. Overall, we had too much a feeling that this was an Italian restaurant for tourists while local ones are better value for money.

We don't often eat out but when we do, Calagrana is frequently our first choice and we haven't yet been disappointed. Obviously the great food plays a large part in the choice, but the warm welcome from the very hard-working owners, chef Alberto and his wife Ellie, the pretty, tranquil setting and wonderful views, and the happy buzz of contented... A wonderful meal enjoyed here with lovely service. This is very much worth the drive to. I most certainly had a post dinner food coma to deal with! I enjoyed veal as a starter, the pasta as an entree and veal as a main. All 3 were very good.

You always find the best place to eat on the last night of your holiday. Well for us it was Calagrana. Incredible food and location. If you are in the area, go, you will not be disappointed. Just don't leave till the last night of your holiday, as you will want to eat here more that once.
