We were the only table sitting outside on the stoep overlooking the sea. We had great service, great good and a good view. The mussels and calamari starters were really out of this world. I wish I could eat there every day.

We were served by a very attentive team, which was great. Food was good but not mindblowing. Would recommend the monkfish.

If you're looking for awesome local fare? Then look no further. The fish is superb, the service even better. I had fish cakes for starter and the yellowtail for mains.

You can't beat this restaurant for setting or delicious food! We shared 3 starters and loved each one. Set right on the beach it is picturesque and romantic.

I don't particularly mind waiting for good food, but when it takes over an hour arrive and then tastes exceptionally average and costs the same as a main course at one of Cape Towns best restaurants, I must conclude that this place is completely over-rated....More

I'm not sure I'd rush back to Gaatjie. Location is great. Owner/Manageress was very curt to the level of being almost rude. Starter mussels were beyond terrible with wine not reduced at all. Main meal Risotto was however very tasty and enjoyable.

Such a great time had at Gaaitjie. Firstly, expectionally friendly hostess and staff (all around cheerful and very attentive). Great views from most angles, comfortable with fires going to warm up the chilly winter nights. The food was amazing - we shared a calamari and...More
