Was looking forward to a spot of lunch in the quiet pretty town of Beer after a lovely long walk to Branscombe and back. However myself and my friend were refused entrance to the restaurant as we had our 2 small children with us (6 month old well behaved babies). Apparently it is against their Health and Safety Policy to... More

Lovely Stilton ploughmans and mixed ham, cheddar and Stilton ploughmans for hubby . good coffee, open fire and very pleasant surroundings and service. Dogs welcome , and many locals with their dogs seem to regularly lunch here . will definitely be back

Not a great experience here. Had the hake with herb crust with salsa. The fish was good enough but it was spoilt by the salsa which tasted as if it had come from a Dorito jar and spoiled the whole dish. Their coffee machine had broken as well which meant a long wait for a very unsatisfactory drink. The waiter... More

Went their during out short break to Beer. Disappointed that for the evening it was very quiet we were the only couple in there on a Saturday although it is off season. Had scallops which were cooked very well indeed in a lovely sauce. Sea Bass main also very nice but a tad over cooked as was the chorizo sausage... More

We went to this bistro on a recommendation . We had our two little girls with us 2 and 4 and as we opened the door the lady behind the door stopped us in our tracks and said sorry for health and safety reasons they couldn't accept any children under 12 years . We then asked if we could sit... More

Booked a meal for 19:30 and were disappointed to find there was only one other couple in the restaurant. The owner had taken the trouble to light a fire, but lack of people left the atmosphere wanting. However the Mussels and Place we ordered were both cooked to perfection, not sure if the chips were hand cut! We ordered a... More

Was advised to book for dinner so called and asked for a table at 7:30 was asked to make it 7:45. So we thought it would be very busy as Saturday night but the place was half empty. Anyway this restaurant is a converted pub and decor looks a little tired but had some nice local pictures. We had the... More

Stopped off for a bit of lunch and was greeted by a friendly lady ,don't know if she was the owner and was made very welcome. Nice open fire going, ordered a couple of ploughmans and drinks. Food was very nice plenty of everything and not long to wait. Well worth a visit.

A beautiful platter of an amazing amount of fresh seafood which could easily have fed 3 was served to two of us. The men chose sea bass and they were also delighted. The wine was great too, thank you.

Thank Julia H
