We were lucky enough to have great weather, so we ate outside to enjoy the sun and views. Prime position overlooking the beach. We were hoping to have sunday lunch, so were disappointed that this isn't served outside. We had to choose off a different menu so had a nice steak, but we'd really visited for a Sunday lunch and... The pub is lovely Olde English inn good food and drinks, but the beer garden is just the best overlooking the sea and the beach of Beer on the East Devon Coast. Well maintained plenty of seating. Beer offers lots to see and do.

We only stopped for a drink in the Anchor whilst walking the coast path, but with Beer such a nice coastal spot and situated just above the beach, the views from the beer garden were lovely.

Loved the pub food in the outside area overlooking the quaint harbour and sea. Can be nicely sheltered . Mixed feelings about inside service and standards though....

Visited on many occasions and this great pub is a stunner in terms of location, views etc. The food was better in the past. It is now Green King and Cook Chill, OK but not the best. Tends to get very busy and some of the staff, on this visit, were not the most efficient. There was definitely preferences for... More

This pub used to be locally run but it's now obviously a chain with a standardised menu and I'm told the food is not freshly cooked on site. Having said that it's still decent quality for the price and for convenience after a long walk or shopping in the village it's ideal. They have a few cask ales plus the... More

After a walk from branscombe stopped off for a bit to eat and a drink with friends. A Green King pub so standard menu and drinks. Good beer garden with views of the bay. Friendly staff would return.

I ordered a jacket potato with prawns which wasn't expensive but I was very disappointed when they brought out a very burnt looking potato! It was cold with very few prawns and next to no butter . My friend had Sausage and mash which was ok
