There are very few restaurants in Kausani. You will have to take lunch or dinner in hotels you are staying in. On one day we went to this small ‘dhaba’ type restaurant for dinner. We ordered paneer butter masala, veg. Biryani, chapati roti. Food was...very delicious & chapati roti was as good as we eat at home so we went again on next evening for dinner. This time we ordered Gujarati Kadhi- Khichadi & potato- onion sabji. And again it was very tasty. The owner & chef Mr. Tarasing is a very enthusiastic person, always smiling & eager to serve you.More
This restaurant in Kausani is a small but clean one. They serve very fresh cooked food. Homely food served by Mr. Dhara Singh. He is very kind and very good in hospitality. You have a guaranteed hygienic freshly prepared food. We enjoyed our lunch during...our visit to this place on 25th July 2019.More
Avoid eating in hotels. Instead of doing that, please do visit small establishments like this one. Overall food quality and taste was great. You can call and ask for advance prep as well . Owner of this restaurant keeps you entertained with his talks while...he prepares amazing food for you. Feels like you are eating home made food.More
Visited this restaurant for dinner based upon local people recommendations, and we were in for a pleasant surprise. The restaurant prepares fresh food based upon your order. We had north indian food for dinner, which was very delicious. Also, the owner- Mr. M.K. Pant, who...is also the Chef, served some local Kumaoni food.
Based upon the good experience, decided to have breakfast next morning also at same place. And voila, had a different menu in morning - which included Continental menu - such as Pancakes. Were not expecting the same at such a small place. Ordered honey pancakes, and they were really amazing. Other things such as sancwiches, paranthas, maggi were also promptly served.
While having meals, Mr. Pant (owner and chef) and a local - discussed about changing face of Kausani over 40 years- and how increasing urbanization has adversely impacted local vegetation, etc. He is an environmentalist, and serves only vegetarian food. He is ex-Indian army, and now feels left out in today's times of internet, where people book hotels with meals as package at kausani and then dont try local restaurants.
All in all, a great place to have fresh prepared delicious meals, and very economical as well. Will definitely recommend to visit there in Kausani.More
