Visited with some friends last night because it was my birthday and they had a live band on. Had a really good night, dancing in the garden. It was fun because it was busy, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and it made a great...atmosphere. The band, The Vagabonds, were really good , interacted well with everyone and I even had a chance to go up on stage to do backing vocals. There was also a bbq, but we didn't eat there. We saw lots of food going out that looked very good though. Everyone needs a chance to let their hair down and have some fun once in a while and a band on a bank holiday Saturday night was the perfect way.More

Long story... 😂 I did some deliveries for this restaurant and decided to try it. We order from here all the time now and I felt like I had to leave a review even though I've never actually been inside the restaurant, only the kitchen....Which is clean and well run might I add. We've ordered burgers, ribs and a few different crumbles. Always absolutely banging and will definitely nip in soon.More

Never had a bad meal in here , the clientele are friendly and the dog friendly public bar is always full of friendly fur babies There is plenty of outside space with tables front and back The landlady is hardworking and accommodating and the beer...is reasonably priced The perfect country / village pub with a thousand acres of walking in Stansted forest a couple of hundred yards awayMore

I recently visited this pub restaurant with my daughter and as such booked a table in advance, the first thing thing we noticed at the lack of people in the restaurant namely six which included us, which meant no atmosphere which near to Christmas was...disappointing. Not everyone in either the bar or food areas were wearing a mask when walking about that also included the staff behind the bar. However, we were handed both food and drink menus from behind the bar and despite booking were told to sit anywhere. We both ordered fish & chips and when the food arrived at our table was both plentiful and piping hot. We both enjoyed our lunch and left within an hour of arriving.More

Ate here on a Friday night with parents. The service was warm and friendly, as well as being efficient. I ordered the cajun chicken burger, which was simply delicious and very filling. The chicken in the burger was well seasoned, the sauce in the burger...was amazing, along with the rest of the filling. The fries and salad were also great. Simple, yet delicious pub grub. First time here, would recommend and would return.More

It was the first time visiting this pub, and at first I wasn’t quite sure about it but how wrong was I. It took a little while for the food to arrive but we’ll worth the wait, amazing food. We had roast and I must...say it’s probably the best pub roast I’ve had. The pub itself lacks a little atmosphere, maybe music playing in the background might help but as far as the food goes we will definitely be back, well done !More

After a long walk, popped in for a snack. 35 minute wait for a steak sandwich. Pub not even busy. HSB was good though.

We ate at the Castle Inn twice during our short stay in the area and were not disappointed on either visit. The staff were all friendly and the food was great! The owner(?) even went out of her way to get us vegan desserts that...she wouldn’t normally stock when we booked for the second night! Also, one of the best vegan burgers I’ve had. I’d recommend booking a day in advance as they get busy. They allow dogs, which is great :) All in all, fantastic meal, highly recommend and I wish I lived local to eat here more often!More

Sarah and her team delivered delicious southern fried chicken burgers & lush homemade chips to us every week during lockdown. After lockdown lifted we took our family into the pub for a delicious dinner that was even better (my mum & dad's first meal out...and they absolutely loved it) - friendly and welcoming service, reasonable prices & excellent food. Tonight we were lazy and had a delivery and I tried the salt chilli chicken which was about 20times better than any Chinese in this area - lovely fresh veg, delicious sauce and the best egg fried rice I've ever had. I never realised a pub would do nice Stir Fry. Thanks castle Inn - so glad we live close by. Best food in Rowlands Castle, hands down.More

The lunch arrived just hot in trays from which the food was transferred on to heated plates. The pork which was locally sourced was flavour-some, textured and very well prepared. The generous portion of again locally sourced vegetables consisted of broccoli, cauliflower cheese, red cabbage,...roasted parsnips and potatoes. A large Yorkshire pudding completely filled a large dinner plate. The gravy was light, not too salty and had flavours of roast meats. The lunch included a pudding but we opted for a cheese selection which was again very generously supplied with assorted biscuits, chutney, white and red seedless grapes. The whole lunch was was washed down with a personally supplied 2012 Volnay which was just the right in weight and taste to match the roast pork and accompaniments. Well done Sarah Mayes and the team.More
