Went for a Saturday lunch on probably the first warmest and sunniest day of the year Pub was very busy bar service was slow and the food wait was over an hour - they did tell us this at time of ordering Food was good value for money the burgers taste like homemade BBQ burgers which was a pleasant surprise... This was my first visit - I only discovered it checking out best walks around Greater Manchester. The pub is approx 0.5 miles walking along the River Mersey from Chorlton Water Park and the same distance from Sale Water Park. It is very well presented both inside and out with a large garden and children's play area. I visited with... More

Been going here for many years and seen it be taken over by different landlords, it never really changes much though. A lovely little pub with a nice atmosphere.

Great place for a few scoops with the kids. Food was good, can be tricky getting a seat inside, however slightly down to a great band playing folk music...! Dog friendly with nice staff.

Took our dogs for a walk along the river bank on a treacherous supposedly spring day. It was cold, windy, wet and miserable. Really fancied a break as we made our way back to the car. Called in Jacksons boat for a warm up and what a delight. Roaring fire, friendly bar staff and delicious food. Could have stayed forever.... More

Very popular pub given by the amount of people packed in and outside on a Sunday afternoon. Dropped in for drinks. Nicely decorated with friendly staff. Food quality on offer seemed good from what we saw coming out of the kitchen. Appears very welcoming to both children and dogs! Would definitely want to re-visit on a long, warm, summer evening....
