OMG what happened, I have written abad review about this place in the past. Came here as the pub we were visiting nearby had closed due to a technical issue. Was reluctant to return but so glad that I did, it was great! Friendly attentative...service, the place definitely looks cleaner, more inviting and we ordered food which was amazing for pub food - definitely recommend the Katsu Chicken! As a longstanding resident of Sale, this pub had become the place to avoid, I am so glad that I visited tonight and experienced the difference, they have certainly stepped up!More

The staff were great, I didn't get the name of one going around, collecting glasses, singing away, delivering food but he was FABULOUS

I've just been here with a friend and her daughter for lunch. The food was delicious, i highly recommend the chicken sharer plate as the mango and lime chicken was especially delicious. Sitting by the canal side was a treat as the sun was out....Great service from Lynne and the staff as alway, many thanks.More

Lovely pub, great food with extensive menu. Staff all extremely pleasant and polite, they couldn’t do enough to help and we’re extremely knowledgeable about the menu. Highly recommend for dinner and drinks.

Horrible establishment, cheap & tacky menu. Poorly run by bullying management. Sexist assistant manager treating female employees awfully. Don’t invest your time or money into this business.

I tried to visit on Friday night (having visited many times before and having had a lovely time) we rang the pub around 9:30 to find out if there was any music/tables free. We were told that they had music and plenty of tables and...to come whenever as we're were over the road the The Block and Gasket. We came over just before 10pm and on approaching the pub were immediately told by the bouncers that they were fully booked and to try the Slug and Lettuce. We were confused and didn't want to complain so did what they said and went to The Slug. At the Slug my parter rang you again and was told once again that you had plenty of tables and that she would tell the bouncers his name so we could come in. We had one drink at The Slug and approached your premises again. Once again we were immediately told no. My parter asked why and told him about our phone booking. He immediately dismissed us and now said it was too late. We were dressed appropriately, were not rowdy and there was only four of us (2 couples). In all honestly, this was just one of the bouncers (the bigger one) the other one didn't even look up from his phone but was probably embarrassed by the way the bigger one was acting. The female manager was eventually called up to the door, she was very polite but was clearly intimidated by the bouncer and all she could say was 'its bouncers discretion whether your allowed in.' This lost you custom and money from four people (and however many other people he turned away from 9:30pm that night for no reason) I really think you need to assess this especially considering the climate we're in at the moment, I'm sure all bars and pubs are struggling and would be thankful for any custome they can get at the moment. Like I said, we have had many fun nights in The Kings Ransome and were really let down on Saturday by how we were treated by a security guard who's job had evidently gone to his head.More

As above answer, check out Wetherspoons JP Joules or The Railway round the corner, for cleaner loos, and arguably better range of draught beers/lagers.
