This is by far the best Spanish resturant in the San Juan metropolitan area. Tasty salpicón de mariscos (seafood salad) for apetizer , delicious halibut for entree and a great creme caramel for desert. Great ambience and splendid Albarinño white wine at a great price. Personally hosted by owner Chef Gaspar. Recommend wholeheartedly!!!

Asked for regular water, and waiter served me from opened plastic bottle, then tried to bill me $5.00 for bottled water. Owner asked if I wanted avocado and tostones with paellas, then tacked on $9 to bill. Won't go back.

After been received by the ever present chef/owner Gaspar, prepare, yourself for a true Spanish food experience. Won't mention the paella, cochinillo, etc (may look other reviews); my favorite is the exotic plates prepared only seasonally (bison, avestruz, faisán ) which are otherwise extremely difficult to taste in the island. Nice service, wine selection. Bit expensive, worth the price.

We were looking for a place to eat and it was late in the evening about 8:45 PM. We were looking at our options and spotting this sign and decided to stop in for dinner. from the beginning the experience was great. They were scheduled to close at 9 PM and we were great by the owner. We (my wife,... More

Great traditional spanish cuisine. Always very consistent, ample menu selections and very good spanish wine list. I always order off the menu, the options are always a winner. A bit on the hi side in terms of price but worth it.

This is a nice neihgborhood restaurant from a veteran Spanish chef/owner. It features a brick oven where game and bread are roasted with wood which is definitely the highlight. Not the most exiting place in the world and expensive for what it is. Stay away from the meat festival: the quality is not the best and the prices dont make... More

Gaspar Ballesteros moved from Puerto Nuevo Area to Guaynabo and changed the restaurant name to Bodega Vasca. Besides the Spanish Dishes you can also find local and International entrees in the Menu. There are Specials that are changed usually every week. My favorite is the Horno De Asar, where you can have Cochinillo and Cordero and sometimes other Game favorites.... More

I was surprised to see Gaspar; the owner of La Bodega Vasca there. I have known Gaspara for a long time in another restaurant. This is a Chef with many years of experience here in Puerto Rico in the restaurant industry. But let's get into the matter of my review. Great wine, great food, large helpings and very attentive service.... More
