If you don't feel like going to the regular ski lodge for lunch this is a great alternative..indoor seating feels like your in Austria. Small menu but authentic food!

Probably a bit too authentic for my style, but a very unique dining experience. Beer was very good and food was pretty good as well. It definitely doesn't feel like you are at a restaurant at a ski area in the United States.
We have been in Taos Ski valley for three days and have stopped at the Bavarian every day. It is tucked away on the far side of the mountain but is a real gem. Good for snacks, lunch, a warming cup of tea, PRETZELS with...More
This is one of those restaurants that "thinks" it is far better than it really is. On a positive note. The place is beautiful and the dishes all tasted authentic to our travels in Germany. Downside: Since there are few choices in TSV, they feel...More

This was our second visit to The Bavarian. Both visits were for lunch and I wasn't disappointed either time. Once you can get a seat service was quick and friendly. The burgers were great and the schnitzel was great. All the portions are large.... chase...More
This restaurant is somewhat hard to drive to unless you have 4 wheel drive, but they will provide transportation from the base of the mountain to the restaurant. The food was delicious and authentic. We just ate too much.
Stopped for lunch with a DoubleBock Beer and had a very fine Bavarian meal. With the beer and altitude, we made our last run of the day back to the lodge.
The weather is unseasonably warm during this late winter and will only get better as spring approaches. The Bavarian has a large, sunny deck with bar service and dining. Be aware that it can get crowded and the service can be slow during sunny days....More
