My first experience was pleasant. Their were only 4 families inside dining, remind you it's very spacious. The food was fresh and good. I ordered chicken sandwich"nice portion of meat" of course french fries and vanilla shake were all good.I sat a little to squeeze room...in for dessert they only had 1 kind of cake. I just wish they had brownies with ice cream, fresh baked cookies,1cheesecake or something. The atmosphere is quiet, very relaxed they had the tv on the news, not to loud not to low. Perfect place to eat in privacyMore
It's located in the centre of Nakuru Town, being part of an old family establishment, ubiquitous in that part of town.
It has an old-style interior decor.
The service was satisfactory, took the servers about 5 minutes to attend to us. The waiting time was...about 15-20 minutes for our orders.
The food was quite spicy and tasty at the same time, and I definitely needed a cool drink, to down it, but hey! That's part of the appeal.
To sum it up, if you're looking for a great taste of Indian food, this is the place.More
The food at Gilanis has picked up a notch. Having been there a number of times now in the past few months. I have been impressed with the taste of Indian food and it’s consistency. A slight aspect to work on is the speed of...delivery, otherwise great job.More
After renovations, the place seems to be much better. Food quality is also good.
Chris a long serving waiter seems well versed with what's on the menu and the specialities of the house. A pocket friendly place.
We last went to Gilani’s a year ago and at the time did not try their butter chicken until recently.
As a person who loves Indian food and has therefore tried lots of butter chicken from various restaurants- the one from Gilanis is the best...I have tried. It is rich with complex flavours. Recommend having it with their spicy nan.
Regarding the restaurant- it is a basic clean restaurant- nothing fancy. If you find yourself in Nakuru town - stop by.More
