We went there one evening last week. We decided to eat inside and ordered two pizzas, one vegetarian and the other was meaty. Both were so fresh and tasty. We’ll be back when we’re passing through again.

New management - enjoyed the Sunday lunch and was pleased at the choices. Family friendly place and the surroundings are pleasant.
Just had a really nice (good value) sunday lunch - let me know if you agree? New landlady gave us a good welcome.
Disappointed they weren’t serving food on a Saturday evening. Went here on a recommendation . Went to The Bull instead.
We arrived here for lunch the other day with friends but we were told the previous people have left. They informed us that there would not be any food served until December. Obviously there will not be any opinions to give until the new people...are established and they have kitchen staff etc. We went up the road to the Bull and it was OK not special, but very friendly staff.More
We were recommended to visit the Black Bull by a FB group RAT's who said of the place and not your normal pub "It has great beer but the food is excellent not the run of the mill pub grub" and they are not wrong....We were well please not only with the normal menu but the specials board was well worth a look at. The food was freshly cooked using fresh produce and all served with a frendly smile. It may be worth giving them a call if you are going at the week-end to book a table to avoid disappointment . If using your Sat Nav follow the directions and don't confuse the Pub on the corner called The Bull as it would be the wrong one. We will be visiting again in the not so distant future .More
Now this restaurant does seem to be a hidden gem, its tucked away down West End in Launton near Bicester and some people get it confused with the pub at the top of the road. I have eaten here so many times and generally I...order the Wild Boar & Chorizo Burger which is incredible. Excellent choice of Deserts and a great bar selection make this a real gem. Staff are always really nice.More
Visited here whilst staying with my daughter and her boyfriend who have recently moved to Launton. We were greeted with a smile and a hello from the chef and got ourselves seated. Really nice old pub, no blaring music or loud background noise. Between us...we had steaks, scampi , gammon and lasagne. Food was fantastic. Tasty, hot and excellent quality.Just one point, a goodbye and a thank you from our hosts would have been nice, we’d spent a considerable amount and it would just have topped off the evening rather than them having their backs to us.More
We visited the Black Bull after a tank driving experience in Bicester. Such a lovely pub, cosy and friendly. The food was lovely can highly recommend the lasagne and the chips are fantastic!! Good service and plenty of parking. You really should go!
Very nice little pub, comfortable and friendly. Relaxed atmosphere and no hurry to stop chatting and leave after finishing our meals. Perfect. The food was exceptional, particularly the mango sorbet which was so sharp and sweet at the same time! Delicious! Don't get this pin...confused with The Bull that is on the corner of the main road, this is The Black Bull and is tucked away down a side street bitnis signed posted from the main cross roads. Can't wait to go back and try a Sunday roast!More
Staying a couple of nights in Bicester and was looking fir somewhere for dinner and after a look on TripAdvisor decided we would try it. We were looking to experience a local pub and this was exactly it. As soon as we walked in we...were warmly greeted and as we didn’t have a booking this wasn’t a problem. A large menu choice with both Traditional pub food and Italian options. My husband had the ‘wild boar burger’ which was delicious and l had the ‘homemade duck ravioli ‘ from the Specials, both didn’t disappoint. Dessert was ‘molten Chocolate cake with passion fruit sorbet, yum!! It was a Wednesday night and we couldn’t believe how many people kept coming in and out of the bar. We were told there is a traditional Oxfordshire game which was being played so we went out to have a look. Thoroughly enjoyed our night there, everyone so friendly .More
Friendly staff, nice surroundings and great Sunday roast. Stopped on the way as we were passing through and glad we did. A real gem.
We went in early, took a look at the specials on the blackboard and the menu and decided we'd give it a go. It's a sensible menu covering Italian dishes and pub classics. My advice, go for anything Italian. (The chef is of Italian origin)...It was an excellent decision. A lovely pub, excellent kitchen, very friendly service, in all a very enjoyable evening. I had the Veal Milanese style, my wife the steak, and both were beautifully cooked and presented. A glass of Nero d'Avalo for us both. A shared dessert rounded of a terrific evening. Highly recommended.More
Visited this pub after a visit to the outlet village, out for the day for our son's birthday. Having read the reviews on here we thought it would be good to stop by for dinner. Once we entered the building and looked around a lady...who worked there walked past us twice with no acknowledgement to us at all. We asked the man behind the bar If it was ok to sit, and he said " well yes if you want food" still no hello or anything. Once we seated and looked at the menu still not sure if you ordered at the bar ornifnitnwas table service , the same lady that I assume was waiting on the tables walked past us again still no acknowledgement to is being there. It certainly was not busy as we were only the second table being used, and there was just a few people at the bar. The lady then was just chatting to people at the end of the bar. At this point we got up and left and took our business elsewhere. So sorry I can't comment on the food as we did not get that far. Such a shame really, still business must be good is all I can think.More
