West of Shanghai’s better-known business, cultural and entertainment centers, lies an expansive area of residential neighborhoods peppered with lifestyle pockets that have their own unique attractions. The schools have formed pockets of international communities throughout Gubei, Hongqiao and Minhang. Quite a few entertainment and shopping centers have built up over the years to cater to these communities. While living here means you are relatively far away from Shanghai’s usual hot spots, the large parks, spacious homes and proximity to great Japanese and Korean food keep the neighborhoods popular.
This church is easily reachable by Shanghai Metro Line 1. Get down at the station with the same name. The church was closed for renovation. The twin spires are dwarfed by the sorrounding apartments and shopping malls. So quite tricky to locate from a distance. The exteriors of the church are worth paying a look.
Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), directly subordinate to the Ministry of Education, is a key university in China, jointly run by the Ministry and Shanghai Municipality. Since its adoption of the reform and opening up policy in China, SJTU has taken the lead in the management system reform in the institutions of higher learning, thus regaining its vigor and vitality...
We spent a couple of hours at this zoo. I was amazed by the amount of trash in with animals. I think this zoo is terribly understaffed. They spend more time trying to sell you things out of the gift shop than staffing the zoo itself. The animals seemed to have been taken care of. Im not sure of the...
Great bars & food with plenty of choice to choose from. Easy to reach near to Hongqiao airport and great old colonial building which are converted into restaurants and pubs. It is very popular with locals and expa. Especially great for Friday night and weekends.
This place is one of my favorite place in Shanghai.
The building is just amazing.
You have different rooms, different style, and a wonderful garden.
''Pâté en croûte'', beef tartare, the truffle brie are awesome.
The service is just GREAT.
Can't wait to visit Villa Le Bec again !!!
One of the best hot pots we have ever had. The soup was well prepared and tasty. The ingredients were fresh and of many varieties. Authentic hot pot merging Sichuan cuisine culture and the taste of Sichuan flavor. Service was good. Pleasant dining atmosphere.
Enchanting preparation of dumplings under the eyes of the customer.
Seeing chefs working, gives a whole new flavor to your order.
Steamed dumplings filled with pork or crab meat, are a must.
If I'm not wrong, Din Tai Fung of the Grand Gateway Shanghai is one of the first of the chain.
Cleaning and service are simply excellent.
Been there for lunch a number of times and for dinner a few times. Also ordered food from there quite a few times.
It is anything but fine dining but tjey don’t aspire to that either. The food is generally well tasting, good sized portions and friendly service. Shanghai Brewery is in all aspects way better than its neighbor Big...
Upscale classy comfortable rooms. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Best of all is walking distance to many bars resturants, shopping centers and local cultural attractions! I would definitely recommend this hotel for any business occasions especially those visiting internationally.
The hotel itself is well maintained, modern and provides lots of choice for food.
I stay a couple of times a year and my expectations are always exceeded.
The real differentiator are the staff. Zoee, Jimmy, Kitty and the rest of the team welcome me back like family, nothing is too much trouble and they go out of their way...
Recently I been stay in Renaissance Yangtze Shanghai hotel , the hotel staff was excellent, I had a breakfast at ground floor , the staff Ms.Cindy,Emma,Evian,Jessie, and Alice was extremely pleasant and helpful what a pleasant breakfast to start my busy day.
Highly recommend to stay in this hotel if you have chance to visit in Shanghai.
This is truly a 5 star hotel with very good attention to detail. The staff is very helpful, the rooms are clean and the food is very good. If there is a problem, it is taken care of in a highly efficient manner with no waiting. I think hotels in the US could learn how to treat guests from this...
Room is super big and good bed for chinese hotel. Many Chinese hotels have very hard bed but this hotel was OK. Bathroom also so so. But some equipment was not working.... Hotel is ok but some chinese guests were quite noisy.... I experience in any hotel like this... So this is not because of the hotel.
