The residential and commercial areas around the beautiful grounds of Zhongshan Park have never been considered particularly fashionable by a majority of Shanghai’s foreign residents, but plenty of expats do choose to live here. The park itself is a huge draw, providing a pocket of serenity in the middle of the metropolis. The area has its share of trendy shops with wares that can’t be found elsewhere, delicious restaurants with food ranging from fancy to affordable, and great hidden bars. Rents are also cheaper here than in other neighborhoods with the same conveniences. Aside from the obvious attractions, with its neighborhood fix-anything shops and pop-up street stalls that sell anything you need, you’ll never sacrifice Western comforts.
"Well worth a visit to the Propaganda poster Art Centre"

Shanghai Propaganda Poster Art Centre (Muesum) lots of history captured through propaganda poster art. Amazing Artwork-Well worth a visit. Held in a basement of apartments which I thought was great. Guard at front gives you an English map how to get to the building. Great gift shop also- brought a book for my fiancé’s birthday of the posters (he’s a...
Zhongshan park is a really nice park located in Changning district. The park has many hidden paths and spots which is really nice but unfortunately most of the time it is very crowded but worth a visit if you are nearby.
I saw Lali Puna perform here from Munich, Germany. I could see everything on stage because the space is so small (in the good way), the sound was amazing, and it was not overcrowded or hard to get the bartender's attention. Not even difficult to visit the toilet! The hard part is finding the entrance, which is on a MAJOR...
Visited this small museum on a rainy day. Admission is free. They have couple of very old fire engines inside (from England). I had no clue Shanghai used to have foreign volunteer firemen as well. Anyway, some old equipment and many pictures are interesting. This place is likely better fit for men or boys.
If you are in Zhongshan park...
As 2 vegetarians, the restaurant accommodated our tastes well. We ordered steamed broccoli, spring onion noodles, and veggie spring rolls. Everything was delicious & fresh. The interior was updated & clean, and nearly all the waitresses spoke English. We will definitely be back!

"Still the best value for money"
reviewed 1 week ago by AndrewRath
I have been to Da Marco for 5 times in 2 years and been with people who visited the place for past 10 years. Still best value for money in terms of quality Italian food, great wine and service. One of the few good restaurants in shanghai don’t limit lunch time to 2pm during weekends.
We had seafood soup, ham...
What a perfect place to enjoy great Chinese courses and the Chinese families celebrating Lunar New Year and birthdays. The restaurant is in a side road at 1037 of Yuyuang Road. Don’t mistake with FU 1036 which is on the street. Fu 1039is in an old traditional Chinese villa and you get a lot of room around your table which...
This is my favorite restaurant in shanghai. We often come for lunch as they have delicious but also very nice artistic dumpling food.. but you can order with bind eyes what they have on menu.. you will never get disappointed. Furthermore place is not so noisy, good service, very pleasant to eat and not so common in China. Either arrive...

Nice hotel which has everything you need. Nice gym and swimming-pool, choice of restaurants and friendly staff.
The rooms are tidy and spacious. The hotel is located about 10-15 minutes from the Bund and is ideal for business.
Finding a taxi during peak hours can be very difficult.
We had a huge and impressive room in this beautiful historic Art Deco building. Great location in Changning, 5-10 minutes walk from Jiangsu Station which services two train lines and makes it very convenient and quite close to central Shanghai. Countless restaurants, shops, bars, etc nearby. Service was ok, not very friendly but the staff spoke English which was appreciated...
