While there are certainly many other “bunds” in the world, “the Bund” refers to Shanghai’s famous waterfront. The area’s Gothic, Art Deco and Beaux Arts monoliths were built when it was part of the Shanghai International Settlement run by the British and Americans. The atmosphere of colonial-era luxury has endured over time and is now found in the five-star hotels, luxury brand boutiques and expensive restaurants that can be found within the historic buildings. A cultural center has built up away from the water and some of Shanghai’s best art galleries and museums are housed close to the Bund. Nighttime views of Pudong and the rest of the city also make for a great backdrop at the many rooftop clubs.
A beautiful street that you must visit at night. This is one of the Must-Go walking Street in Shanghai. No many branded shops but you can simple to enjoy the Old & New Shanghai Buildings over there. Easy to find local restaurants and mega malls over there.
Excellent location with cozy colonial ambience, amazing views by the Bund for a weekend Tea. Friendly attentive service from Rachel. Great selection of strawberry theme sweets, would be better with more savoury treats. Recommended for special occasions for an intimate gathering.

Good place , great cocktails, wonderful food, amazing staff and superb view!
Luca who manages the restaurant is always very accommodating and professional.
He would always go the extra mile for you even for the smallest thing !
Visited in March 2018, a great fusion restaurant with great views of bund area, the duck salad is outstanding, service is very good, unusual for China. This is not a cheap restaurant with drink prices ridiculously expensive, this actually spoils the experience, as it feels for no reason a rip off. However I cannot adult food and service, just wish...
This restaurant is absolutely top. Its traditional French cuisine. Another place in Shanghai at the bund which is perfect. Food is delicious, wide selection of wines and great great service. We had a bottle of wine with cork, very unfortunately. No questions asked, it was just replaced. Very professional. Thanks!
Its high end, but we considered price performance...
This hotel provided me with luxury and unforgettable experience! I stayed for 2 nights and received perfect service from the staff. Especially Michelle (guest service officer), who always wears a big smile and help me feel welcome and loved. Already looking forward to my next trip in this hotel and catch up with Michelle again!

You won’t find a better located hotel in Shanghai. Add in a sumptuous, cornucopia breakfast buffet of Asian and western treats, five star quality rooms and fair pricing and you have all the elements for an amazing stay. The staff were friendly and helpful but not quite up to other aspects of the hotel.
The Peninsula Shanghai is located just off the Bund, rooms overlooking the river offer astounding views of Pudong and some of the world's most amazing buildings. The view at night is mesmerizing. The hotel itself is a tribute to art deco and blends modernity with nostalgia nicely; rooms are beautifully equipped with gorgeous bathrooms whilst the beds and furnishings are...
A bit of a walk to to metro station and major shopping centre is made up for by being just 100 meters from the bund. A quiet boutique style hotel with great staff. I think this is a great choice if you want to do your own thing and don’t require the hotel to book your tours etc. limited in...
Just finished a stay at this wonderful hotel. Staff were amazing and the room was really nice. The breakfast was expansive and had tons of options. Walked to the Bund and checked out the skyline. Would stay again and recommend to friends.
