The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
Jing'an Temple is a famous Esoteric Buddhist temple in the city of Shanghai, peacefully located amidst busy streets just as its name implies (Jing'an means peace and quiet in Chinese). The old-famed Jing'an District just named after the temple.
"Excelent xialongbao (yes, I've ve never heard before of it either!)"

A lot of people consider their xiaolong bao as the best one in town! Thin skin soup dumpling that's filled with flavourful meat and broth; freshly made. Good beer, but if you prefer to be like the chinese people, drink tea, as good as ever.
The restaurant has 3 kinds of dumplings, shrimp, pork and leek (I think). All are juicy and fried on the bottom. The pork were our favorites. They also have a variety of soups which looked good, but which we ended up not trying as we kept filling up on the delicous dumplings.
Been looking for good fulfilling burgers in Shanghai & tonight was my lucky night. With some friends, we decided to have burgers. I always told my friends, what I look for is a full satisfying burger enough to whet my appetite.
Oh my, oh my. This place is second to none. The ambience here for a burger place .... WOW....
We went there for group dinner. Restaurant is quite full. We've been pampered with bread during our waiting time.
I choose their recommendation of beef tenderloin and it was delicious, good quality meat. Waiter and waitresses are friendly and nice.
"The Puli is the highlight of our trip each time! "

Our recent stay at The Puli was once again complete relaxation and calm after a hectic business trip. The staff are always welcoming and helpful and the rooms are well appointed and a joy to stay in for a couple of nights before heading home. Feels more like a retreat than a hotel. We will definitely return to the Puli...
Lovely comfortable room, with a great bathroom (spa TV behind the mirror!). Nice to have free bottles of water and a bowl of fruit. Cafe Liang on level 1 did an excellent breakfast. My only complaint is that it’s wasn’t possible to get a decent cup of tea... there was no milk in the room fridge and the tea in...
Have been to the Four Seasons several times for work and leisure. The location is great, just a 15 minute walk from the Shanghai Museum and People's Square, as well as a ton of great food options in the area. The hotel is beautifully decorated, and the service is excellent all-around. The breakfast buffet has a great selection, with Chinese...
I will admit it....I am a regular at this hotel and have been for years. Why? Its an oasis of zen in a frantic, crazy, overcrowded city. Here the staff will treat all guests as old friends, helping them make the most of their time in Shanghai from this excellent launching point of downtown/Jing'an district. The rooms are spacious and...
It is not the first time I stay with this hotel. The room is spacious and comfort. The service is good and efficient. A personalized welcome card from the EAM is very thoughtful. I had a very good sleep here.
