Butantã is home to the main campus of São Paulo’s University, and this neighbourhood has a very different feel from the rest of the city. Within a huge green space, covering around eight million square meters, you can feel the fresh air while mingling with recreational athletes exercising along the streets of the university complex. Outside the university, there is a more residential area where you can see children playing. A hot spot in the neighbourhood is the Food Truck Park, where people from all over town head to taste mouthwatering meals and desserts.
This is the place where living, poisonous snakes can be seen inside a well. There's also a museum and other animals, kind of a mini zoo. The institute produces vaccines of many kinds, and anti venom serum. Good cultural choice for kids.
Took a drive / walk around the campus - it is HUGE! Stopped to see a sculpture by Tomie Ohtake Had a nice walk in a quiet green area. The University was closed for the Summer so, we were unable to tour inside but, walking around outside was enjoyable.

As a bakery it excells, with excellent choices of bread, sandwiches, cakes and so. At lunch hour, as many bakeries in São Paulo, it features a full...
