Located in south São Paulo, Vila Mariana is a nice residential area with plenty of businesses, recreation centres, hospitals and restaurants. Joaquim Távora is an up-and-coming nightlife spot, with trendy restaurants and bars. The cultural centre SESC Vila Mariana offers interesting architecture and a variety of activities for the public. You can rent a bicycle from one of the local bike share stations and ride along the neighbourhood's streets to get a sense of this pleasant area during the day. The area around ESPM, a school for publicity and marketing, offers a collegiate ambiance with busy cafes and pubs.
Go see art visiting the Museum of Contemporary Art. Then, top it off with a nice lunch, healthy food. There are executive dishes with apptizers, main and dessert. The food is tasty and well prepared. The view is great. Although right on top or next to 23 de Maio...the trees that surround the terrace, aside being beautiful, keep the noise...
Entry to this small museum is free. They display a variety of insects, both preserved and alive. The stick insects were fun to see. They also have hives of 4 Brazilian honeybee species. The grounds are small, but interesting. All descriptions were in Portuguese, but the guides were very friendly and helpful.
Great exhibition and great art. Layout and presentation is perfect.
The variety in the pieces is very cool and setting up the exhibition "La Casa" according to themes and not according to time, artist or country works well.
Only downside is that there is no café or anything in the museum or close by.
A short walk across a pedestrian bridge from Ibirapuera Park, you will come upon the very fine Museum of Contemporary Art. The seven exhibit floors take you through the world of 20th and 21st century art, from the well-known “traditional” works of (Picasso, Matisse, De Chirico, Modigliani, Chagall, Leger, et al) and their Brazilian contemporaries (such as Brecheret, Martins, and...

"Great food, excellent customer service"

I travel for work to many places and never liked restaurants inside hotels, but Taste It was an excellent surprise - great food, great atmosphere and great people. The filet mignon with hearts of palm is amazing; the server (Cynthia Tavares) was very helpful and friendly. I will certainly go back there more times when I come back to Sao...
Ive been to Brasil a couple of times and I love coxinhas. But this place had the best I tasted in Brasil! Also a very nice traditional Carioca style bar with draft beer and delicious caipirinhas. Try one with jabuticaba! A fruit that only can be found in Brasil!
Loved all the types of pizzas. We ordered quatro queijos, Portuguesa, neopolitana, funghi, and primo and all were equally delicious. Great tables to sit outside in the green space which is nicely lit up at night.
I have been to the restaurant long time ago, the assado das tiras was absolutely amazing, and it's the time I'm in love with beef ribs! It's the place for meat lover, we are planing to come back very soon to try rib eyes!!! Xxx
In the middle of the city, this is a hamburger joint that deserves to be visited. Not only because the atmosphere, but with a great team and extraordinary food and drinks. There is also Archery (apparently everyday) and RPG tables (twice a week) to try.
Stayed a week for business activities, generally the hotel is nice and the service is great, when I arrived to the hotel and went to relax after the long flight, there was alot of noise from above - the reception immediately changed my room, they also provided me with electrical converter which I was missing.
The bar & restaurant in...
A very good hotel, I stayed during a weekend, Very good location, nearby restaurants, pubs and nightlife.

The room is big enough and clean,
Good at all
Travel needs very close to Hotel, very good location
Convenient for a short stay for Business
All Staff attendants (Front Desk, Restaurant) very gently
Very good value
Good connection for WiFi
The room was nice, new and clean. The internet was fast enough (at least from the 3rd floor). Breakfast is better in other Mercure in the city but also good. Overall a good hotel for a business trip. Close to Av. Paulista and a lot of shopping malls.
Stayed here for 4 nights during the world cup - couldn't fault the hotel, friendly staff, great location, good breakfast.
WiFi is a bit patchy in the rooms - we found ourselves pacing the halls getting it to work.
