The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
Interesting historical site, sit on a bar or restaurant and sip a cold coconut water, a capirinha or water, hear the sea, see the sea, sense the sea and bygone days of seafarers, pirates and sirens song dragging boats filled with gold into abyss...restored, reopened, worth a visit - it is here it all started
"Nice area to walk on the Copacabana beach, but be warned!!!!!"

You can find many nice hotels and restaurants right here. Windsor Excelsior is one I recommend, near the famous Copacabana Palace, if you "have" to stay in this area.
Nowadays you need to be careful as you walk the Avenida Atlantica. Unfortunately things have changed a lot for the last few years and safety is overlooked.
You can do great...
This is an interesting military fort on a headland between Ipanema and Copacabana beaches, where you can wander or sit and eat and get great views of Copacabana Beach. Going underground and seeing all the areas and rooms there was very interesting. There is also an army historical museum there. However, all the information in the Museum is in Portuguese,...
Visited here based on the reviews. It’s a very small cute cafe in between Copa and Ipanema. The owner was incredibly warm and personally seated us. The breakfast was delicious - open sandwich which was a warmed brioche with mozzarella, tomatoes plus Parma ham. Veggie options available. They also had great freshly baked cookies and cakes. Loved it! Heavily recommended!
Amazing seafood focused restaurant in Copa. The service was great, and the waiters spoke perfect English which helped. The food was relatively well priced and the seafood dishes were incredible! The waiters recommended the moqueca (with sole fish) which was amazing and paired it with lovely white wine. Great service, food and attention to details.

"At cariocas' favorite restaurant for Sunday brunchs!"
reviewed 1 week ago by LuizDutraNeto
My first visit to "Sá" was back in 2013 and, five years later, this branché restaurant is even better! "Cariocas" have adopted "Sá" as their favorite Sunday brunch spot. A fantastic salad bar (with an incredible mix of seafood and greens), a fine selection of warm plates as main course, and assorted desserts that will make you dream about them!...
After too much Brazilian food, I was craving a change of pace. My friend and I ate here on our last night in Rio. I don't even remember my entree, but I have to tell you about the lentil soup. My God, was it good lentil soup. Worth going just for that. Waitress was nice too.
The food was very good though the size of the portions was rather small like nouvelle cuisine. There is only indoor seating, however in the back they have a room with a huge wall of plants...you definitely feel like in the jungle and the abiente is fantastic. Service was also very good. Price/value is only 4 star, because it is...
Everyone at the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and the mini bar had everything I could want for the weekend I stayed. The food was great. The bathroom could have been bigger.
And the pool and outside are was fine, nothing impressive
I would recommend a room with a view, it made the trip for...
Excellent hotel in all terms!
Incredible well trained staff, attentive to every small detail.
Very comfortable room, modern and spotless clean.
Rooftop pool with amazing view.
Special thanks to the staff at the pool deck, front door and breakfast.
They were amazing!
Totally totally recommend this hotel even for very picky travelers as me.
The pool is amazing, and their brunch is exquisite. Right in front of Copacabana Beach, this iconic hotel is worth the visit. The Asian restaurant is particularly good with quality food and great ambience.
Perfect location and the staff was over the top helpful. Made my moms experience memeorable for her first time in Rio. The location was great right on the beach and the food quality in room and at restaurant was delicious. Beds could be a little more comfortable.
Not the most interesting hotel, but in a great position with good rooms and good breakfasts, though no eggs made to order. It is very big, so breakfasts, check in and check out can get very busy. One great feature is that you can just grab a towel and chair from the hotel and go to the beach and a...
