Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
The Samurai Museum is quite small. For you ¥1800 you can get a guided tour in English ours started at 1130am so you might want to check the times. We got lucky wandering in at 1128am.
I found it very interesting with the guide telling us about Japanese history as she showed us the Samurai armour and described its development...

"Free Entry to View Tokyo Skyline"
reviewed 3 days ago by celestayk
This place is free admission to public. I recommend visiting this instead of paying to go up to Tokyo Skytree or Tokyo Tower. The view is about the same! Quite a distance from Shinjuku Station but worth the walk.
Great views, free which is always great. We were there on a weekend and very early as it was close to our hotel. The line was short at that time, but quickly building. The views from Skytree were better, however it was not free and the crowds were huge and took sometime even to leave, due to the lines. I...
"Nice Free City views from the museum plus Vincent van Gogh in Tokyo"
reviewed 1 July 2018 by CodyDC
Found this museum while searching for places to visit for my trip to Tokyo. After reading the reviews plus my interest in impressionist art, I added it to my list. The museum is near the Tokyo Metropolitan Government buildings, so you can stop here on the way to government buildings. The museum is very small and has a gift shop...
We went today to this restaurant and took the 4200 yen menu (japanese beef). It was very delicious. The broth was very tastefull, at the end the waitress made an fried udon using the remaining broth. She was very friendly and helpfull, as were the other waiters as well.
I certainly recommend this restaurant.
We were initially afraid of not getting a table but the place turned out more spacious than appears on some of the pictures. We were 7 of us and had a great dinner. Its very clean, service staff speak sufficient English and the drinks and meals were served super quick, not even 5 minutes after ordering. The Original Baby Okku...
There are 3 types of buffet; beef and no beef. All include drink and dessert. There are drink and dessert station, vegetable station and side dish station. Meat need to request from staff. The staff are nice.
I stayed here with my husband for my 1 week Tokyo trip. Great access to the Shinjuku 3 chome station, many night spots and restaurants. The rooms are tiny but super clean. Make sure you book ahead because sometimes they are full.
I had the room that I requested for😃 which made me happy. The staff were efficient, helpful & polite, not to mention always made me feel welcome with their smiles & greetings! Location is good, there is a good, large supermart in the opposite nearby. The metro station is about 5 minutes ' walk. I like the area which is...
We are a family of four - middle aged parents and two young adult children.
We booked two rooms next to each other. We paid a bit extra to get slightly larger rooms - so while they were still small, they were adequate for our needs. The rooms were clean, and we had an impressive view over Tokyo. The pillows...
My stay here was good. Good location and friendly staffs. About 10 min away from the metro lines and central city and good night life. Rooms are clean and space is ok for Japan standards. Very comfortable and price is good!
