Chinatown is a classic combination of colourful sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill. There you’ll mingle with Singapore’s multicultural residents at the modern bars and restaurants dotting the bustling streets. An afternoon in and around Chinatown will leave you culturally enlightened, well fed, and loaded with souvenirs. In the evening, reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail as the locals come out to play.

"Excellent spot for lunch at a reasonable cost"

We went here from Chinatown. It felt like a more genuine place to eat with lots of locals as well as tourists. The costs was very reasonable. We had steamed dumplings from Special Shanghai Tim-Sum which were amazing and a noodle dish from Spinach and Soup which was very tasty as well.
Our only negative was with other people visiting...
You need to take your shoes off and leave them on a rack outside. Initially I was concerned about leaving my shoes outside but then I remembered that I was in Singapore and there is 0 chance of any theft.
Just from the outside you can see a lot of the exquisite statues and architecture. I'd never been in a...
The concept of this restaurant is brilliant. Inform the staff of the fresh produce for the day that you DON'T like, sit back and trust their judgment to provide you with a meal that will exceed your expectations. The produce is superior-quality and the Chefs are artists in their chosen trade. The wine pairing was exceptional and the wait staff...
Highly enjoyable dinner.I have no idea how the chef came up with the ideas for some of his creations but they taste great and make the experience a real culinary journey.
The eclecticism of the food is also matched by the team he has who serve the food and drinks creating a warm ambience to the place and a very...
One of the few molecular gastronomy restaurants in Singapore. The amuse bouche and soufflés on the lunch menu are amazing. The foie gras and hake were cooked to perfection. A delightful experience! I’m surprises it doesn’t have a Michelin star.
Went there for a business dinner and had the 5 course dinner. Fantastic food, lots of nice touches, well executed and good service. It comes with a price but this is reflected in the quality of the food and effort that went into the presentation.
The only disappointment - I wish the restaurant was busier which would create a more...
I really like this property but unfortunately this time I was placed in a room with no external light from the sun. I could never tell the t8me of day and when you combine this with jet lag. Well it makes your stay more difficult. Maybe I didn’t pay enough and was therefore allocated a bad room. I’m sure they...
Pro: Best destination (near to MRT and Chinatown), Clean, stable Wifi, Free national and international calls (deposit required), nice shower facilities.
Cons: The toilet is slippery, loosing socket, floor didn't sweep on the second day of my stay ><ll
This is a small but nice hotel we a good breakfast in a nice setting . Conveniently located at walking distance from MRT station Chinatown. Very friendly staff. We booked two rooms with our family of 5.
We had a great stay here. Although it is pricey due to its prime location but it worth the price. Good bed and cleanliness and the place looks new. It’s my second time staying here and i will definitely come back here again for my next SG trip.
The Southbridge hotel is in a very central location right on the edge of 'Chinatown'.
First impressions are good from the outside and check in was very quick. The rooms are not too spacious, but the bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning was perfect.
The bathroom was a 'wet room' which was very compact but functionable.
