Chinatown is a classic combination of colourful sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill. There you’ll mingle with Singapore’s multicultural residents at the modern bars and restaurants dotting the bustling streets. An afternoon in and around Chinatown will leave you culturally enlightened, well fed, and loaded with souvenirs. In the evening, reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail as the locals come out to play.
We were surprised that everybody was allowed to walk through this temple and even take pictures. Impressive architecture and a place to find inner peace, even for people of other or no religious beliefs.

"Chicken and rice"
reviewed 2 weeks ago by Alvin D
A must visit Hawker center. The chicken and rice is good. Tried both stalls one with Anthony Bourdains recommendation or face on it. And the one next to it. I preferred the one next to it. The one with his name the working yelled at me because I had two spoons. I explained to him that I had two people...
A must visit in Chinatown Singapore. The architecture alone on the outside is visually stunning with all the colours. Maintained really well.
Modest dress is required if entering the temple so not “western” summer clothes such as singlets or shorts.
Another example of Islamic Indian architecture in Singapore, this time in the heart of Chinatown, right beside Hindu, Chinese and Buddhist temples, as well as a church! This green mosque standing tall with its 2 minarets at the entrance is also a national monument of Singapore though it is so simple and modest in shape. It is not much but...
Rhubarb Le Restaurant is a restaurant in Singapore serving French cuisine and wine. The restaurant is a joint venture between manager Jerome Desfonds and chef de cuisine Paul Longwort. My friends told me to go as it was Michelin star standard but not UK prices.
Really good food. French tend to be small portions but so good you are left...
Just had an amazing diner. We chose the 5 course tasting menu and got ten. And everything was great. Well balanced built to the main. And finished off with an amazing desert. Very original wine list. All in all a fabulous dining experience.
i like the green sofa at the entrance, can be a ins photo to post. and, the open kitchen gives lots of view for chef's work. food and service are wonderful, even from the first bite of the bread... will come again and again, for sure
I came to this 4* hotel with my wife and stayed 6 nights in room #308.
I would like to start with the cons:
Firstly, this has been the smallest room I’ve ever been. And the smallest means less than 12 m2. It was really challenging to move around the room without hitting your knee with any corner of the...
I’ll tell you both the good and the bad and you can make up your own mind:
The good - the location is perfect, right in the middle of Chinatown and literally directly opposite the MRT. The aircon was really efficient, plenty of hot water, bed super comfy with plush pillows; we slept like babies. Reception staff were polite and...
"Fantastic staff, beautiful hotel, incredibly relaxing stay and great location!"

The hotel staff was the highlight of the stay. I was there for a business trip and had extremely hectic days. It was a pleasant surprise for me to receive handwritten notes from hotel staff asking about my well being and keeping things like crayons, color books, health drinks, traditional balms / medicines and the singing bowl in my room!...
We stayed for 3 nights in a queen room with balcony. The room is ok for 2 people with minimal luggage. The bathroom is cramped but everything is spick and span. The room service does a great job keep the room clean. The free breakfast is a great bonus and really good for being free.
The coffee machine was good...
Great hotel in Chinatown with lots of charm. Free minibar, special snacks all around and breakfast each morning. Comfortable rooms and friendly staff make this a place to stay.
I’d return if price was reasonable.
