Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
I came to Lumpini Park after seeing it on a recent BBC documentary before I travelled. I managed to get some great pictures of the incredible HUGE monitor lizards that live in this park. The park itself is gorgeous and very large, a lovely oasis away from the concrete of Bangkok. Definitely a worth while trip.
The Purple line is the most useful for visitors as it connects with State Railways of Thailand's commuter and long distance trains to destinations such as Chiang Mai and Surat Thani.
Underground trains are reliable, smooth and frequent although during the off peak the latter drops off a bit.
Ticketing has a day pass available but it does not seem...
A friend of mine recommended this place to us.
Super easy to reach here by MRT, right next to Sam Yam station.
Went in the noon on a Tuesday and it was pretty crowded at the donation area.
There's no minimum amount to donate, but 500 thai baht will be for the price of one coffin. Remembered there's a pink...
A beautiful Hindu/ Tamil temple which is a dramatic contrast to the Thai style of temple.
Frequented by the US and indians alike, this is a very beautiful and, busy attraction.
My only observation is that, there is a never ending requirement to pay pay pay "donations" to every aspect of the temple. Seemingly this is common in India but,...
Bread and butter:💛💛💛💛💛
Perfect service and amazing dessert, delicate appetizer and main course, best way to enjoy the scenery of The Chao Phraya River.
I live in the South (in USA). Pretty much a BBQ expert. This place is small, but they serve great authentic American BBQ. I had the half rack of pork ribs - fell off the bone tender. Sauce was a bit different. Coleslaw good. Went on a FRI night - sat at the bar to eat.
It was one of the best Tom Yum soup in Thailand.( 4 week)
Small street opposit the Lebua.

This time we come to try some drinks and food at Bamboo Chic Bar 4th floor. The food is very good and cocktails also great but most importantly staff here is very nice.. our favourite is khun Fa- Atchara!! Excellent
We came early at 6AM but they manage to give us a temporary room (earth element) and at 12 we got our room (water element) at the 28th floor with an amazing view and got a little surprise for our welcome (won't spoil you, you'll see by yourself).
If you book directly through the hotel, you should be able to...
Love staying here. Service is excellent, breakfast buffet is great. Near train station and just found out it’s walking distance to Health Land, a massage place, and has great restuarants and cafe near by as well!
I can’t get enough of their rose ice tea and friendly guest services.
