Very accessible by public transport, Coogee is the smaller, friendlier, more intimate version of Bondi Beach. Coogee is the only beach in the Eastern suburbs that does not have big waves, making it an excellent family beach. The Coogee Bay Hotel, located right across the beach, has one of the biggest beer gardens in Australia and plenty of entertainment every night of the week. Be on the lookout for celebrity footballers! A little further south is Wylie’s Baths, offering sweeping 180 degree views over the Pacific Ocean, and it is perfect for a swim or a few laps. Plenty of dining choices surround the beach, including the famous fish and chips.
"Lacking in an outdoor gym... big nudge, big wink."

You will pass by here on the coastal walk. Or maybe sit under a tree looking for shade when the sun is at its zenith.
Either way, the reserve is not an attraction, though it could be made into one with some outdoor gym equipment ala Clovelly.
Received a voucher for my birthday to do the open water course. The pro dive team were fun and welcoming and the course was a fantastic well organised experience. Great equipment and transport provided and excellent group training catering to everyones needs. Already planning and looking forward to my next dive!
I went for the first time by myself. I was highly nervous because I didn’t know anybody and I didn’t know the place or rules. It took me half an hour to work up the courage to get comfortable. All for nothing. It’s an amazing environment. The people are wonderful and it’s just heaven on Earth. I wish I lived...
Good food ,attentive but not rushed service in clean surroundings. In my opinion our three outstanding dishes were the lamb ribs, the fried chicken and the pad Thai. Not overly keen on the prawn green curry too hot and not enough coconut milk for my personal taste.
Overall worth a visit, book in advance but this is not the cheap option.
Authentic french cafe just off the main strip at Coogee.
Great coffee and the croquet monsieur was to die for!!!
Tables outside or quaint french bistro style inside.
Will be back to try their dinner menu!
"A welcome sight at the end of our walk from Bondi"

From the outside this place looks a little old school inside it’s anything but. Loved the different areas inside and the industrial look. Straightforward menu you can eat anywhere. Just had drinks and fried chicken burger each. It was delicious.
Spent the day here on a corporate workshop. It is a very nice location and beats being stuck in the middle of the cbd. Amenities are pretty good and the bar area looking out to the sea also pleasant. Very good.
Love staying at Coogee and love staying at the Adina Apartments in Coogee. Easy walk to beach and cafes. If you want the beach but not the hectic pace of Bondi then Coogee is the perfect spot to stay and visit.
Great location at northern end of Coogee Beach. Fairly basic hotel but nice and clean. Very friendly & helpful staff with 24hr front desk. Complimentary secure parking but spaces are limited, beware of stated 1.8m height restriction (hanging bar at entry) although our 4WD is just under that, there was a taller Toyota Landcruiser 4WD parked next to us, individual...
This hotel is small enough that you feel noticed as a guest. It’s literally only steps from the ocean and the Coogee scene. If you have mobility issues beware, lots of steps no escalator. The check in was friendly and engaging, common room a great place to enjoy a cup of tea. Our king room was in the middle of...
Great location to stay in coogee, but we stayed in the basic pub rooms and was very noisy all night until about 3am. The room was very spacious and lovely comfy bed. The bathroom could of done with an up date. What really annoyed me were the bouncers on guard, there really should be a separate entrance for guests staying...
