Changing liquor laws are remodeling "The Cross," Sydney's red light district. These new rules have encouraged trendy cafes and boutiques to pop-up in the area, as well as organic markets on Saturdays. The area's nightclubs are still popular with youngsters, however, who will dance to the early morning hours on weekend nights. There are plenty of artifacts from Kings Cross' shady past when gangsters and liquor houses owned the place. Today, one can still find a variety of adult entertainment venues in this evolving area.
Maurice Bernard Houghton was well liked in Kings Cross. Everybody knew him. He gave lots of charitable donations to King's Cross, helping the needy.
This guy was a gentleman. He loved waving at people. He loved the people of King’s Cross. He tried to help those in need, always with a smile.
I like that. I wish everyone would be...
I happened to be staying at a place around the corner and booked a 60 min Thai massage. Disappointing but not uncommon, that there is a $30 price difference $60 - $90 between a traditional Thai massage (no oil) vs a Thai oil massage.
I arrived just on time to find the front door locked, shortly after. A lady arrived...
I went on Destinys weird Sydney tour at the rocks and all I can say is it is the biggest waste of money!!!The staff were so unprofessional. The driver spent the entire time on his phone selling his truck and nearly caused an accident.I contacted Allen the owner for a refund and he refused.Save your money. It's a scam.Corrie
We did the Grand Circle Tour - small group with a great tour guide (and a guide in training). We were off of the cruise ship so the tour made our first stop at the Featherdale Wildlife Park - wonderful plan since we were in and out before the tour buses got there! We stopped at Windyridge Garden for viewing...
Farmhouse hits my sweet spot that's somewhere between home-cooking and upmarket dining. You've got the hearty generous servings like mum's and the creativity of upmarket dining - great value at $60.
A true gem in Sydney - farm-to-table experience in a cozy ambience ❤️
LOVE THIS PLACE!
Cannot fault this place. The food is amazing! The chef’s passion and enthusiasm clearly shows how much he cares about what he serves!
Have visited this place at least 10 times now, I do not leave Sydney without visiting here!
Keep up the great work!
I've been waking up every night in June with palpitations - from scary dreams of never being able to eat Grant King's superb cooking ever again - ever since he declared his intentions to cook less "cheffy" food, and to transform Gastro Park into Antipodean - a "more accessible and informal neighbourhood place"! Serious nightmare stuff for hardcore gourmets, don't...
Kings Cross hotel is your typical Sydney pub in sense of weekly specials, food selection and drinks. The food here is always great as are drink selection. I last visited 7th April. It was a nice sunny day and had the KX Burger which was excellent. Had a seat on 2nd floor balcony overlooking the cross which was great. Service...

Met a girlfriend on a glorious but fresh Sydney Sunday morning.
Was really busy but secured a great spot and there are even blankets to keep warm if in the shade.
Coffee was delicious and tasty and ordered the paleo potato bacon, onion, hash. It was the best (wish I had taken a pic)
Service was great and friendly and...

The location is fantastic nice and close to everything. The staff are absolutely fantastic, I felt like i was really well looked after. Also the beds are amazing i felt like i was sleeping on a cloud. I am going to stay there again and I have already started to spread the word to family and friends.
Very pleasant stay, the room had everything we required, great location, near to train, and only a couple of stops to Central. Laundry room on ground floor. Very friendly staff. Would definately rebook.
We had a one bedroom apartment, very neat, clean & tidy. The most comfortable king size bed in the bedroom that could be split into 2 singles if needed. Everything was supplied & replenished everyday - shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, laundry liquid (there is a washer/dryer in the bathroom), dishwasher tablets (a full size fridge & an oven with stove...
Room was good tidy clean a little bit old fashion but acceptable
good staff. Excellence abounds in this hotel. The staff is very nice and very helpful, the location is very lively at night and we never got bored walking in the hotel area!
Second visit for lunch. Has a very nice bar for a drink , relaxing and pleasant music , not loud so could have a conversation. Has a typical Bar Food Menu, one gets in most pubs in Sydney and same price , much better though, good presentation, quick service and we a very nice attentive barperson on 17/10/ 2016 at...
