North of St. Stephen’s Cathedral, Vienna suddenly turns small, winding and medieval, opening up to legendary places such as the Basilisk sculpture at Schönlaterngasse, as well as glamorous baroque façades, courtyards and churches. Take 45 minutes for a casual stroll through Bäckerstrasse, Sonnenfelsgasse, Köllnerhofgasse, Grashofgasse, and Schönlaterngasse. This quarter is packed with stories and legends that will enrich your Vienna experience.
Quite impressive church, and of historical relevance for education and science development, just is near of Österreichische Akademie der Wissenschaften (Austrian Academy of Sciences) in the old part of the city.
I first saw the exuberant and fancy façade of the church in the evening and I returned to it in the morning. It decorates the historical street of Wollzeile street and it stands as a mighty emblem of both Christian Faith and Art. The richly decorated door leads you to a corridor lit fadely by a spectacular chandelier. The interior...

"Should be more printer in the statue. "
reviewed 8 September 2018 by Bryan W
I mean, sure old Johannes is important, but it is really the printer that takes central stage, that ushered in literate man and eventually digital society. They should have had more printer in the actual statue.
The Ring Tram is in a way unnecessary, not sure why it even exists. Firstly, one can easily walk along the ring, it is a nice distance to stroll along and many sights are along the way. Secondly, there are other trams like #1 that also cover the ring. So I wouldn't bother too much to jump on the Ring...
I do not have a picture but for a small fee you can go inside and see the Baroque style painting on the ceiling where they only sometimes have lectures. It is a definite to see if you are there and just amazing. Otherwise you will not appreciate the real beauty of the building.
I took a wine tasing menu with cold cuts plate, which were delicious, I took another one plate after! All was great, found couple of bottles of really awesome wine. The owner loves his project and it feels. I’d definitely recommend it and will visit again when get back to Vienna.

I visited this place with a friend of mine for lunch, since he is vegan and there was no vegan meal on their menu, the waiter arranged for a platter of grilled veggies which was very nice. Also I was very happy with my schnitzel dish. the location is great and i love how hidden it is, away from the...
"Very memorable, beautifully cooked and presented food"
reviewed 3 weeks ago by Plumper N
We went for my birthday dinner and even though we arrived embarrassingly early, the service was courteous and pleasant. We had the tasting menu, which was beautifully cooked, executed and presented. The staff were informative and very helpful. We had originally planned to have dessert but were so full, we couldn’t eat any! Regardless, a very memorable meal and if...
Stayed here for four nights in late September. Located on small side street within walking distance of everything in the central district. Environment feels like a cross between a hip, upscale pension and a casual hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff, comfortable lounge areas with guide books, games, etc. Terrific breakfasts are included, as are afternoon beer and sandwiches. Lobby...
The location was superb. Restaurants were within walking distance. The breakfast provided by the hotel was great. The hotel staff was very professional and helpful. We took advantage of the laundry service and the finished product was very good. Because of the superb location of the hotel shopping and tourist attractions were also within walking distance.
Our lodging in Vienna was the quaint Kaerntnerhof hotel in Gashofgasse. Situated off Lugeck and walking distance from Schwedenplatz, this hotel is a true gem. It has 1930's decor, rooms are spacious and nicely done. Walls are covered in eye-pleasing wall paper. Only negative is that rooms have no fridges. One is spoilt for choice during breakfast and it runs...
Good location close to city and underground. Reception staff were efficient and welcoming. Rooms are spacious and well equipped ( tea/coffee available all day in breakfast room ) Excellent breakfast choice with friendly staff would stay again.
3 star hotel with excellent location, next to the heart of Vienna, near train station WIEN MITTE , 10 minutes by foot. Clean hotel, the rooms inside with tv , heating, hot water. The bed is small. Use of keys onstead of a card to access the room. Breakfast not satisfactory. A bit expensive compare of its facilities but the...
