Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
We spent about three hours at the Museo and thoroughly enjoyed it. We don't speak Spanish, but neverthless enjoyed the exhibits, which often had English labels. Good explanation of Spanish history, well-curated exhibits. And a good gift shop!
Lazaro Galdino is another Spanish artist. This Museum contains many other items besides a collection of his paintings. The most notable sections are the Treasury and the Armoury. The Triptych of The Nativity by Garcia Del Barco is one of the most noticeable paintings.

It was a great experience to walk along Alcala Street from Sol Square til that beautiful place. The best time to get the optime photo is after 6:00 pm when the suns sets and the solar lights fall covering it all.
Co-workers and me went to this place and reserved at the Chef Table down next to the kitchen ,we had an incredible dinner with 10 different plates , defenetly a must in Madrid ,we will return whe. We return to Madrid, kitchen was inmaculate , attention was perfect, wine list Incredible , thanks Begoña for a night that I will...
Was recommended by a friend. We booked 8.30pm on line but not aware that was when it opened. Therefore we were 1st to arrive. So we sat at the bar and had a drink and chatted with the maitre de and the barman. All the staff were professional and lovely.
After a little while the place became busier.
This is one of my favourite restaurants in Madrid (although it is difficult to say that in a town that has hundreds of good restaurants). The dishes proposed are sophisticated and never obvious. The price reasonable and the wine list very good. A place to go from time to time. An experience to repeat regularly.
We had the Nine Bites of Appetizers lunch on September 20, 2018 for 4 adults. The atmosphere, service and food were outstanding. Chef Freixa himself took our order and came out after our meal for pictures! Innovative and delicious! Could not have been better. Timing was perfect, not too fast, not too slow with courses (which we often have a...
What a perfect night. Attentive and extremely friendly service, great innovative food (especially if you like offal), fair prices and nice atmosphere. What more do you want?
This was definitely a highlight of our visit to Madrid.
I stayed here for 4 nights during the week. The hotel is in an area with lots of upmarket shops and less than 10 minutes walk from the Metro.
The staff are very helpful and the rooms are excellent and very recently updated. The breakfast offered a choice of a limited buffet or a hot meal such as omelette and...
We have been here for a week. The accommodations are excellent. The location is terrific because all important sites are within walking distance. And most significantly the staff is uniformly terrific and we are made to feel most welcome. We wanted a small quiet first rate intimate hotel and found one.
Fantastic location in a beautiful part if Madrid with lovely restaurants with outside terraces, shops and easy to walk around. It is a good half an hour walk to the centre but what you see along the way is your own tour of the city. The hotel is really beautiful - my room was very spacious with a king bed,...
My wife, baby son and I travelled to Madrid for the first time as part of a wedding anniversary celebration and stayed at this wonderful hotel. We informed the hotel of the occasion, also requesting an early check in. The hotel were great in being able to accommodate us in this regard, which was super helpful after the long flight...
This hotel was perfect for my two night stay for business. Welcoming, accommodating staff. Truly lovely, inspired, comfortable decor. The restaurant was wonderful for all meals - delicious food, quiet, good service. The rooftop and lobby areas for drinks and tapas were also great for meeting friends or clients. Top notch, sophisticated and cosmopolitan, with just enough whimsy and warmth.
