Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
A walk from the bottom Las Ramblas , the column and around the marina will get you there, an easy bike ride. Any one of the smaller Barcelonetta streets any you come across a wide beach front stretching for miles in both directions. Good sand width, does get a bit littered and city council beach bars actually in the sand...

"A rather neglected station."
reviewed 3 February 2018 by TheShis
From a distance, we were certain this is a deserted station as its roof seemed to be falling apart - literally.
Getting closer to it, we noticed parts of it are fenced off, but to our surprise this turned out to be a rather central station with a pleasant interior.

It’s a cozy seaside restaurant. We had been there to have lunch, and we tried the nachos and the tacos, and both were really tasty. It was pleasant to have a good lunch looking at a beautiful beach. About the treatment of the waiters, was ok. The WiFi was good as well.
Next to Estacion de Franca, a hidden culinary treasure is hiding. Away from the hustle and bustle of the busy touristic streets of Barcelona. If you want to escape from the tapas syndrome and try typical dishes with a twist this is the place for you. You would need to book because it is high in demand, the tables are...
Really kindly surprised by the quality, professionality and taste. Really well made Argentinian style burgers, with a ligjt homemade bun. Meat was well cured and made, addons were a bless too. If you are near the sea and want a good lunch/dinner, then I suggest this for sure!

There were 10 of us who stayed at Santa Marta for 3 nights. For the price, this is a great hotel! Conveniently located, easily accessible to many of the major attractions. Lots of places to eat nearby, including a small shop 2 blocks away.
Please know: if you want a double bed, you need to request it way in advance,...
The Hotel is right on the marina and very close to the Ramblas. Has a wonderful view of the sea. If you want to have a run in the morning, you have a wonderful walking area around the marina, where you can enjoy running along the sea. If you want restaurants and bars at walking distance, you have tons! The...
I booked 2 rooms for a weekend stay in Barcelona, and first impressions were great.
The hotel is very clean and impressive when you walk in to the reception area, and the rooms are spacious however my room had a shower/bath, the waterfall shower head was lovely but the bath bared no use as the plug didn't work. The double...
