This is the neighbourhood of grand and impressive Haussmann-designed apartments and buildings. National museums overlook the Eiffel Tower and embassies fill the avenues and streets. Locals head to the butcher, florist, or bakery on their daily rounds amidst luxury and splendour, all with a view over Paris and its most famous tower. Snuggled in between the grand buildings are small art galleries and homes of historical significance. With a rich legacy from 19th century politics, art, and architecture, you can’t help but be reminded of the belle époque, the Universal Exhibitions and the nobility that have frequented and shaped these streets.
Exquisitely well arranged, this museum has a truly extensive array of artefacts drawn from throughout the Far East- mostly one person's collection.
But the absence of any refreshments on site remains a pain!
"Tremendous display of facades and sculpture, should be a first stop on your tour."

touring cathedrals and museums from the 15th and 16th century you get to see beautiful artwork and sculpture over doors and windows and facades. But unfortunately you can't get to close to them.. At the Museum of Architecture you get as close as you want to beautiful castings of door arches, facades, and sculptures. These castings are from the actual...

We were in Paris a day as part of my 40th birthday celebration (4 cities, 3 countries, 4 days). We had been to Amsterdam, Rome and Venice on the previous 3 days and Paris was day 4. We were quite tired by this point. We came from the Eiffel Tower to the Trocadero before getting the train back to the...
What an awesome Indian restaurant. My husband and I have dined at several, but we thought this one was the best of all. Butter chicken was to die for. I highly recommend this to anyone who appreciates a great Indian dinner. Totally exceeded our expectations. A must go!!
My wife and I had a wonderful, amazing and completely enjoyable dinner here in mid-Sept 2018. First, the service was impeccable (the same can't be said about the hotel, but that's a separate review). Second, the cuisine was world class and third, the waiters were very personable making the entire affair very memorable and enjoyable.
We had a duck foie...
Really enjoyed our dinner at Etude. A sophisticated, quite cosy restaurant that serves excellent food without it being too uptight formal.
The 4 course dinner were beautifully presented - I had the vegetarian set and the food was excellent.
Sommelier’s recommendations on wine were also spot on.
Professional and efficient services.
We visited Pop's for a birthday meal while staying in Paris. Food and service was excellent, delicious and homemade. We both had pizza which was perfectly thin and so moreish. Amazing experience from start to finish! Totally recommend this to anyone wanting a great evening.
We ate here tonight and plan to return in 2 days. Dinner was a delight! I had the artichoke appetizer which was really large and delicious. Others thoroughly enjoyed the rabbit and pork pate. We had a coc au vin, a cassoulet, and a fish, all very tasty! For dessert we shared an outstanding chocolate eclair, that was huge! Our...
I have stayed at The Shangri-La Hotel Paris for my birthday and I anything I could have wished for has been accomplished. I have received a beautiful birthday greeting and it remains without saying that any member of the team has been most accommodating and wonderful!
Hotel Pastel is on a quiet, pretty, mostly residential street in the 16th. On Saturday night, there was loud music echoing from a neighborhood party, but other than this, it was tres calme. I was in Room 34. It is a corner room and I had views and breezes from the open windows on two sides. At night I closed...
Fantastic hotel near Eifel tower.
Very nice and quiet rooms.
Also very helpful staff.
Just outside the hotel you can find restaurants.
5 minutes walk to Seine.
We had a very nice weekend at this hotel.
We can recommend it.
Great location within a short walk of the Eiffel Tower, this hotel is nestled off a side street. Rooms overlook a courtyard hidden from and removed from the side street so no room need be distracted by road noise. A very pleasant quiet refuge that allows one to fully enjoy all the hustle and bustle of Paris.
Stayed here for one night on a recent business trip to Paris. I had booked a single room but was given a room with a double bed and a single bed, the bathroom was large with a very powerful shower (great for waking me up after getting in late the night before) and with air con. My room was on...
