In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
Happened upon this gem after busy few days sightseeing. Spent a quiet winter afternoon watching Parisians relax and have fun. Grandmas looking after children, school children playing with their teachers, and old retirees playing pétanque. Off the usual sightseeing track but well worth a visit if you enjoy visiting Regents Park and Hyde Park in London.
This small museum is a find indeed. Over 2 floors it covers a lot of aspects about language, with many interactive displays. We spent nearly 2 hours in there but still couldn't complete it all! Very educational and very suitable for children as well.
"The choir has been nicely renovated, the nave is hidden behind scaffolding"
reviewed 3 days ago by Katrien S
There is a 4 year renovation ongoing in the church, and currently the nave is hidden by scaffolding. However, one can already admire the recently renovated choir, and it is quite spectacular. One does have to take one of the side entrances to enter, though, the main entrance is closed. The architecture is part romanesque, part gothic, but the decorations...
This was our favorite meal while we were in Paris. The staff was wonderful and friendly and the food was outrageous! Every course was delicious and we even mopped up every morsel with bread so our plates were clean when they went back to the kitchen. We really enjoyed our waiter who was really nice and explained every course and...
A lovely family run restaurant, different from the standard touristy brassieres in the area.
The service was great and the staff were really helpful in translating the menu. The falafel wrap and chips were delicious, a definitely recommendation!
Can’t fault this place and would definitely return when in Paris again.

My wife and I traveled to Paris for a business meeting and then stayed a few extra days to enjoy Paris. We stayed at Hotel Le Six, a newly renovated boutique hotel about a block away in either direction from the efficient subway system. Our room was on the top floor giving us a great new of Paris roof-tops. Both...
Boutique hotel in prime location in Paris — we had exceptional service with a friendly, helpful staff. They went above and beyond for our group of ladies celebrating 40th birthdays. The spa was a real treat and our stay was wonderful. If you are thinking of booking a room here, do it!
Stayed here for one night, and everything was wonderful. The hotel is located in a quiet street, yet not too far from local attractions, making it a perfect location.. I really appreciated the staff members' professionalism and their impeccable service.. I am not quite familiar with the Left Bank so I decided to ask for a few dinner recommendations at...
We really enjoyed staying at Victoire & Germain. It was the perfect location with a wonderful staff! The room had all the essentials and was very clean and modern. We will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Paris. Everyone working at the hotel was very helpful and friendly. The room was ready when we arrived and we were able...
This hotel is tres charming in style and friendliness of everyone who works there. The rooms are small but easy to stay in. There are some suites. Breakfast is best to catch up with your friends and family. Walking distance to local restaurants and lots of shopping. This will remain as our go to hotel for pleasure and business.
