Nagaland: Pictures

14,000 were killed every day! The Amur Falcons are the longest travelling raptors in the world. In the course of their migration, they pass through a few states of India. But the hunters of Pangti in Nagaland were waiting. They caught almost 12,000 to 14,000 flacons for sale and consumption during the peak migration. This was 6 years ago. Through the efforts of the locals in partnership with environmentalists and NGOs, the village of Pangti turned into a safe haven for Amur Falcons.
