The Galapagos trip allows travelers to discover the giant tortoises, the most famous residents of the Galapagos Islands. After Lonesome George’s death (2012) twelve living species are thought to remain the islands. When thirsty, they are obligated to travel from a long distance, hence broad and well-beaten paths branch off in every direction from wells down to the seacoast. The Sta. Cruz and Isabela islands have the largest populations of giant tortoises. And, they are present all year around. (Aug 2022)
