Consider staying in Pudong
We spent three nights in Shanghai and spent all three in two different hotels in Pudong. Each came with a river view which we enjoyed. We spent one whole day touring the tall skyscrapers (SWFC, Shanghai Tower) and the shopping malls. Definitely worth a visit across the river.
