Checked in by Gary who did a super job up selling the breakfast and the meal deal of paying £15 each for £22 of credit on food in the restaurant. We said we would think about it and he welcomed us again to the hotel and offered any assistance we may need. Great start Mercure,

Dear mistynight, Thank you for taking time to write a review on tripadvisor regarding your recent visit to The Mercure Grange Park hotel. It was great reading your comments, very informative, we use tripadvisor reviews in training and to improve our service and guest care and your review was an excellent example that covers our departments and team members. I have already spoken to Gary and will congratulate Jeff on his next shift with regard to their "efficiency and politeness", we will always feedback personal mentions to our team and thank them for their performance. We are undergoing a full hotel refreshment program and hope to have all our public areas, gym and guest bedrooms up to the standard both we and our guests expect and demand, however like most large projects we do need the bedrooms to be available and some areas to be closed to complete this work. If the fire alarm is activated the guests and visitors should always make their way out of the building, our staff are instructed to do the same, however if a member of our team is available then clear and deffinate instruction should be given, however that instruction should always be to leave the building by the nearest exit. Thanks to your review we have been able to identify and resolve a training issue to ensure the safety of our guests, visitors and staff. Once again thank you for your review and your comments on our team, hotel and standards.
