Absolutely fabulous day with the inimitable Museum Tour Manager, retired Highlander & knowledgeable military man Tony Curran as our guide at Highlanders’ Museum Private Tours. Apparently, we were their first guests! What an honour! Fort George is amazing with its views, and it’s a working military establishment, too. The Museum explained by Tony came alive and real - such a huge number of priceless pieces of history! He then took us to Culloden and Cava Cairns. Breathtaking history came truly alive with Tony’s stories & knowledge. We will never forget this day with Tony and Museum volunteer Mary. Thank you! Tuija & Ted from Vancouver
First of all it was our absolute pleasure to have yourself and Ted as our first guests on our inaugral tour as a business. The day flew by and like you we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Thank you both very much also for assisting in setting up our D-Day Landings exhibition in our Nick Ridley Room. We are glad that you enjoyed your day with us and found it so interesting. Our guide is very knowledgeable and loves passing on all his historical facts, figures, dates and information to everyone. We have a saying in Scotland "Haste ye Back" and at the same time don't forget to tell your friends all about us.

We did a day tour out of Inverness. We didn’t know what to expect, but our tour guide Tony made the tour the highlight of our trip! I would highly recommend this tour. Not only did we learn a lot about the history of the region, but Tony’s enthusiasm and sense of humor really made it unforgettable. You don’t have to be an Outlander fan to appreciate the tour, but if you are he covers many of the historical events that happened in the show. In addition, the historical sites that we visited were superb.
Sean, thank you very much for your review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your day with us and found it so interesting. Our guides are extremely knowledgeable and do love to share their passion and enthusiasm with our guests.

We got picked up at Inverness train station on our very first day in Highlands. We were greeted by our driver and guide. Both born and raised in highland. We felt warm welcomed especially this was our very first trip to Scotland. Dad couldn't get his eye off from the nature beauty, the cow (yes, the cow), the lake. I got to try on opening the water gate of the canal. We spent a good amount time in the Highlanders museum, which full of history and lots of display to see. Off course, much needed hot chocolate. We went to the Clava Cairns and Culloden battlefield in the afternoon before returning. I was amazed to learn the ancient settlement and the Jacobite history. If you are first timer,I definitely recommend this tour. it covers all highlights around Inverness and could not be missed.

This is an excellent and very substantial museum. We left some of it for a second visit, and enjoyed both visits very much. It set us off on further research after leaving. We spent some time looking at pictures of various regimental leaders, and left with the suggestion that some kind of guide to honours would be beneficial for people like ourselves, who felt bewildered by, but interested in, all the letters after their names. We felt the same applied to the amazing display of medals. Some simple guide to the meaning of at least the most common would have added to our visit.
Thank you very much for your 5* review Christine. We are delighted to hear you had an excellent time and that it inspired you. We are very proud of our Regimental Museum and the fantastic history and stories it preserves. Thank you for your observations and feedback. We are indeed already developing a medal guide for visitors.

A warm welcome, keen volunteers and a wonderful personalised tour. We have been to many military museums in our time but this was one of the best. The artefacts are displayed well and not overwhelming and Tony (a delightful young man)) bought it all to life. Thank you team

Very nice place, impressive museum, we had never seen so many medals in one place. The paintings and portraits are beautiful. It was really very interesting and very well documented. We were very well received both at the ticket office and in the museum.
Thank you both very much for your kind review. We like to think we provide the best experience for our visitors as is the custom with Highland hospitality. PWe are indeed privileged to hold such wonderful and unique items in our Museum. We hope you come back and see us again very soon.

Wonderful day. Very helpful staff in museum, the ladies were very friendly and mage our teenage boys very welcome. Exhibitions amazing. Lots of walking involved which for us was was great, beautiful views. Used the coffee shop which was very expensive for what you got.
Thank you for your 5* review, the team here at the Museum pride ourselves on our customer service and the responsibilities of maintaining and caring for the Collections in our trust. Hopefully your boys were able to test their shooting skills in the Shooting Gallery, if not, that's a definite must for them on your next visit.

Excellent museum in an epic fortress. I had no idea the rich history of the highlanders. With exhibits of real military artefacts used by the regiments dating from Waterloo to modern day Afghanistan wars. Amazing. 10/10
Thank you very much for your review. We do pride ourselves on our Collection and take great pride in sharing it with you. We look forward to welcoming you again to the Museum on your next visit.
