Hotels near Arduaine Garden

Arduaine is a wonderfully moist and mossy coastal garden, influenced beneficially by the North Atlantic Drift and enjoyed by enthusiasts from all over the world. Twenty acres of outstanding woodland plants include not only a major rhododendron species collection with a leaning towards the more tender, but also all the usual spring-flowering favourites such as camellia, pieris, azalea and magnolia. Other trees and shrubs take the flowering season on into the autumn along with an inspiring miscellany of bulbs, perennials, climbers, water plants and ferns, many rare and unusual, many down to earth and familiar, all interesting and beautiful in their diverse ways. A spectacular coastal and island panorama can be enjoyed from the easily accessible cliff top viewpoint. Visitors are welcome every day and will find something of interest throughout the year, come rain or shine.

    Wonderful day out.
We journeyed 50 miles each way to view this garden, and we were not disappointed! The garden was in excellent condition and the area of trees that had been felled was outside the extensive area planted and landscaped so well over many years, and did not detract. At one time before the necessary tree felling, it was pleasant to walk around this area too, but there is still so much to see! The sheer variety of plants and shrubs amazed us at every turn. We will be visiting again!!

    Simply A Great Garden
One of the best gardens ever visited, obviously planed and maintained by people who know and understand plants and their environment. Definitely competes with the likes of Benmore even if it is not as good. Ten out of ten Arduaine, keep up the good work! 77 years old and I have worked in gardens since my father put a hoe in my hand at the age of 8/9years old.

    Beautiful place to visit
Absolutely beautiful gardens with so much to see and lots of great benches just to relax and enjoy the views. The walks to the viewpoints are great and well worth it for some stunning views. Definitely would highly recommend a visit.

    Beautiful gardens with sea views.
Next door to the hotel it is free to residents. Easy walking on good paths with beautiful viewpoints over the sea. As the seashore is difficult underfoot it is lovely to have this beautiful place to walk in. Lots of unusual plants.

West coast garden at its best in July.
An interesting garden and associated forrest. Well maintained and a wide range of plants with a number of interconnected pathways. The viewpoints have fantastic sea views. The only downside was the very high cost of admission for non members of the National Trust. We are members, and have been for many years, but feel that reasonable admission prices for non members present a much better encouragement for visitors, particularly foreigners on holiday to our beautiful country.
